Linux needs a native client for Deezer!

 I hope that this summer is going to be the definitively… There is no problem with putting an alpha release here I think so we can start testing ( and much more) it

We have a package in ArchLinux AUR, which installs an unofficial native app in ArchLinux based on Windows binaries, so porting seems to be very easy. Hint: Deezer Desktop is an electron-based app, so one may adapt it to any OS that has electron package.

I would have a question about this package. Does it count in deezer servers like a windows app and it means a deezer windows user or it count it like a Linux one?

I mean it’s not good to show more windows users than it’s real ( windows have enough users already xD)

Hahaha @Alblinux don't worry about it! Our devs are quite passionate about a Linux integration too - they're well aware. The problem here is only prioritisation.

it’s not for being negative, but that’s sound like there won’t be any work on it in the short term. and this idea is the third more voted and  I think the first in relation to not answered ideas. So it’s a little bit sad that response..

2 years in road map and way to the 3 in total, come on discuss with developers, I don’t think that github developers of the app would mind if you base your work in this repository! You can fork them! it’s the good thing of open source projects!

I am not going to be a year waiting on this and if I go without a linux version, 630 votes in this(you can pay more developpers in th future surely for that linux users that come to deezer) and 2 years in roadmap I won’t come back I think. Because it’s not the way, you have to hear the clients!

And right now doesn’t appear that situation…

I am sure most of them would leave spotify if your  future app have a tray icon natively and almost the same features although you have not some of spotify ones.

But I am sure that they won’t go to deezer without a native app… So Hurry up deezer! You have the way to make many spotify users between others to go deezer ones, don’t lose the opportunity. 30 of tray icon in spotify and most of 630 users of deezers that want a linux versions but probably are not paying a premium account for this reason.  I am very sure if you contract another devopper for working on Lnux version you are going to have most of the money back with us. I am sure that it’s a work of less than a month and you can base your work in github ones.. If a person without cacces to the real code of the app deezer version have done this , come on guys, you can do it better, faster and without problems!
