I know that exist a client for Windows and Mac, but I can't to find any one for Linux. In my opinion the web version es pretty bad and the company can develop a port for their client.
I think that is important to cover all the platforms for all the users.

I recently created an Ubuntu script to install Deezer based on the fantastic work done by IlyaGulya and SibrenVasse on an AUR package for Arch Linux. It should work on Debian too since Ubuntu is based on Debian, but I haven't tested it.

You can view instructions on how to install it here https://github.com/siphomateke/deezer. It's not at all official and isn't guaranteed to work with future Deezer versions but it's what I am now using.

I'm not sure why Deezer hasn't added support for Linux yet considering the Deezer desktop app for windows is an Electron app and runs just fine on Linux with a few minor tweaks.

Hopefully this helps my fellow Ubuntu users.

@sipho thanks for your awesome work. I installed it and all went good but at I get an error at the login, which won’t allow me to get to the main page. Here’s a screenshot so you can understand better:

Hi there @pochopsp

Try clearing the cache and cookies from the browser opened to authenticate the account, if it's of any help. I'm sure @sipho will give you his ideas too

+1 for native official version support. It’s a shame that the community made something at that easy way that can’t be supported officialy by deezer. I used deezer a few years ago but I passed to spotify because they have a native client in Linux that works OOTB. But I wouldn’t mind pass my family account to deezer again if there is official support.

I am testing the version of aur deezer and it is so good I think. But it’s no way that deezer developpers don’t give the needed support for this package..

Hello @Alblinux, thanks a lot for the positive feedback   Many users are requesting a client for Linux, it’s our job on the Community to show it our teams. so that we can make it happen in the future, so keep showing your support for this idea.

Have a great weekend!

I use manjaro and I'm interested too in a Deezer app for Linux. Only one question with Deezer premium. If you close the app the queue status is saved or the play is deleted and reset for the next start of the app?

I refer to the windows one app that is the "original" of the aur version of Deezer.

Seriously take time for seeing the version is awesome (efficient, with a tray ,almost no bugs.. it's the same as windows I think and its native in Linux...)

See the github for more info and please give this information to the developers. It's not need to have the best and perfect app since the start but at least having almost the same possibilities than Mac os os  windows .( The media keys and control are working too in that github)

https://github.com/SibrenVasse/deezer

I am using Spotify right now for example with family account

Thanks for sharing @Ronasonu have you tried checking to see if the option to sync queue lists is active? Click on the volume button on the player

You're a good detective @raccoonsarecool :smirk: . Yes, it was also on the roadmap before (I thought a year ago, but we're now in 2020 so that's correct), that's why we started and did initial tests. But in the end, we couldn't carry on and prioritise it. I've also covered that here in this topic

I have a family account with spotify. Spotify is good, it works well and I love it. It has 2 main errors:

1No tray icon in Linux version( the idea is on spotify forums but they doesn’t hear us so..)

2 when you close sometimes the proccess are not killed  and you have to go to task manager and kill them in linux ( nothing important actually)

I am testing the app deezer in aur version, it works well. The problem? I am not sure if I goes to premium I would have or not the queue restored between closes. I mean, I add songs to the waiting list queue, I close the app with 4 remainig songs, I open the app, I find that the remaining songs are “ dissapeared” But I think is a limitation in deezer free plan so.. no worries.

I think the future month when the spotify plan gets ended I will go to deezer with the hoping that We are gonna get the linux native version so..

Guys, you won’t have much time because Linux native spotify vs deezer not officially app… it’s too hard to decide but I will go to you to test and try a month or a few. So have in mind that a few users are gonna go to your platform but it depends on you to maintain them or not.

I know that there is too much work and priorities, I know it, I have worked. But.. seriously this work is not too hard and it is not needed to have an stable release directly, only with the release and the correction/report of bugs is sufficient!

So, please, make this idea real in that 2020 year, you can do it, I trust you, team!
