Linux needs a native client for Deezer!

I think that is important to cover all the platforms for all the users.
I recently created an Ubuntu script to install Deezer based on the fantastic work done by IlyaGulya and SibrenVasse on an AUR package for Arch Linux. It should work on Debian too since Ubuntu is based on Debian, but I haven't tested it.
You can view instructions on how to install it here https://github.com/siphomateke/deezer. It's not at all official and isn't guaranteed to work with future Deezer versions but it's what I am now using.
I'm not sure why Deezer hasn't added support for Linux yet considering the Deezer desktop app for windows is an Electron app and runs just fine on Linux with a few minor tweaks.
Hopefully this helps my fellow Ubuntu users.

An urgent need!!!. Electron rappers of the web version does not reflect the flac quality well. Even native Spotify Linux app sounds better. Please make a native Linux Deezer app.

The community did much more than deezer itself.
Now I received an offer to buy deezer for whole year instead of monthly payments, but I really doubt they will introduce native linux app next year...

I use https://github.com/siphomateke/deezer as a Linux client on POP OS (Ubuntu based)
So far everything ok, but I cant seem to get that it would use Deezer icon in Dock.
Does it work for others?
I have tried looking at various files like deezer.desktop and /usr/share/icons folder

Hello everyone!
I packaged the app for flatpak, and so it should be a lot easier for people who do not want to download and update the app themselve. You can find it here, downloading the flatpakref should open your software manager and prompt you to install automatically.
My github repo also contains very simple instructions to create packages for debian/ubuntu/pop_os, fedora/centos/rpm based distros, appimage, snap… All the instructions are in the readme, and please open an issue if you need anything!

Aunetx, thank you for taking the time to do something to help address what has been one of Deezer's top user requests for as long as I've been a user. Much appreciated.

Don't count on it - Deezer appears to be reducing the number of platforms it supports, not increasing them. At this point I think the best we can hope for is a web interface addon / widget that supports the use of keyboard controls (play, pause, next track, etc...).

I guess this month is the last for me on deezer. We've been waiting for too long for a linux client. I can't believe I have to go back to spotify. Congratz Deezer.

Hi,
I’ve just switched to Deezer from Spotify for ethical reasons* and would love to see a native Linux desktop app.
I’ve installed this unofficial port - https://github.com/aunetx/deezer-linux/ - but something official would be great.

Seconded. I’m also a newcomer from Spotify and greatly missing the native Linux client.
Please. It’s trivial to release a Linux client for an organisation of your size.

As someone who's used Deezer for several years now you'd be surprised at how difficult it apparently is for Deezer to do things like this. In the meantime there is an unofficial port of the Windows electron app available. Look back through this thread for details.

Bonjour,
