Let's choose how "Add to queue" works

Related products:Features

The way "Add to queue" works has recently changed, and it's a huge downgrade to me. I found it way more logical and useful the way it worked before, as the songs/album was added at the end of the queue and not before the rest of the queue (there's a useful "Play next" for that).

Anyway, I see somebody prefer the new way, so it may be useful to let users choose between the two behaviours by adding a button or something in the settings.

A month has passed, many small updates have launched and yet this matter remains. A single "add to bottom of queue" or an option to customise how the "add to queue" works, or even an option to decide if album plays or playlists should have low priority would suffice. Custom options like that would improve the experience, make it less frustrating to not have a choice. The app has already so few custom options, it's quite sad that this matter is just being ignored

Totally agree.

Dear Deezer, the “Play Next” and “Add to Queue” features have lost their essential distinction.

“Play Next” should place a track immediately after the one currently playing, whereas “Add to Queue” should add a track, an album, or several tracks at the end of the queue, after everything that is already scheduled to play.

Currently, when I use either of these features, the tracks are inserted before playback resumes from the current playlist, album, or mix. As a result, I waste a huge amount of time manually moving tracks to the end of the queue to restore the order I want.

I use Deezer on both the website and Android, and this issue affects my everyday listening experience.

Please restore the previous behaviour or, at the very least, introduce a proper “Add to End of Queue” option.

This is a loss of functionality, not an improvement. Users should be able to manage their listening queue easily, without having to constantly rearrange tracks manually.

Thank you for considering this request of many users.

Eloquently put, thank you. It’s past time that Deezer should have fixed this problem. I wonder if they even read these suggestions, requests and complaints. The bot support is useless.

Completely agree, this change feels like a backward step for me. I logged it as an issue and they recommended I come here.

The previous set up was logical: “play next” added the track/album after your current track and “add to queue” put the track/album at the end of your current playlist.

The new format means you are forever editing your playlist if you want to add something to the queue. You know the album you’re listening to only has a couple of tracks to go until the end so you want to add another album or two, not any more.

Please revert back to the old set up

I fear we all need to leave negative feedbacks on Play Store/App Store too, so maybe we’ll get some attention about this issue.
