Let's choose how "Add to queue" works

I reported this same bug and got an AI email response (pretty sure it was AI) telling me to come here. If this is truly not a bug, the design decision is simply baffling.

The section at https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115004529809-Deezer-Cloud-Based-Queue-List#how_to_add_a_song_to_the_queue indeed gives basically the same explanation for the two buttons, which makes no sense.

So, the design decision is to have two buttons do the same thing instead of, like before, having each button do a different thing, each of which was useful. Is this truly a human decision or some AI nonsense?

I mean come on, even the button icons clearly show one button is meant to place the song high on the queue and the other at the end.

 

"Makes no sense" is the best way to describe this choice, in my opinion.

Anyway, if you scroll the topics in the community, you'll find users asking for it (which makes even less sense to me).

So guys at Deezer would make everyone happy by simply letting us choose in the settings which behaviour we prefer, I guess.

They actually announced it as a new feature! It’s so frustrating. And now we have two options with absolutely the same function 😓

I wrote to them. They asked for a video explaining the issue. I sent one, thinking, "Phew, now they'll finally see the problem!"
They replied that it was normal behavior.
I asked them how I could listen to several albums in a row—as simply as possible. I'm waiting for their reply.

I don't know who approved this change or why, but it's ruining my experience...

It really ruins the music session experience! 
 

One suggestion for you thought. I recently discovered the behavior is different for people in the beta program. I just registered into the program. My app was updated for the beta one and…..: “add to queue” is working closer to the way it should again! Still kinda strange, but have a distinction from “play next” option. I’m kinda relieved. Though it’s still such an outrageous change that’s still affecting so many users! 
 

You should try it!! As we don’t know how long (or if) it will be fixed to the original system in the common app! 

The latest response from support: we just have to rearrange the titles manually, one by one. 🙃
And that’s it. That’s really it. Nothing is wrong, nothing will change.

Did they say that they weren't considering the possibility for it to change?

When the "feature" came, I had something asking me to review the new behavior of the queue, but I did not knew the changes yet, so I just ignored it and cannot make it reappear or find the form somewhere in the settings…

Not really smart to do a survey when people didn't even have the time to notice the change yet. A good way to have biased results.

I need my old “add to queue” behavior back, we now have 2 buttons doing the same thing. Outrageous 

Hi, same here..

I get their point, that you can now create a sort of virtual queue within a set list.
If you have like 600 tracks in your fav, maybe add-to-queue that way makes sense because there’s no way you want to add the track to the bottom of the fav list.

But I don’t get it when it comes to albums, if I want to add to queue an album, I surely don’t want to cut the one I’m listening to in half.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand their point, but I DON’T LIKE IT!

100% agree this is an incredibly frustrating change. Why have the "play next" button at all? Adding to the queue should only add to the end of the queue. Please!
