HiFi compatibility on all devices.

1600 tracks downloaded in 'hifi'... Taking 8.8GB total!? That's about 5.5MB per track... Which can never be considered a Hi Fidelity track... That's an MP3... 

Exactly what are you guys classing as Hi-Fi? My desktop says its streaming at around 1400kbps, which is like a flac file.... So why are these files so small? And if its downloading the file in MP3 then doesn't that mean it's always going to play your playlists in lossy format?

If you are using the latest desktop version 4.17.21, you don’t have to guess anymore if you are listening to a HiFi or only a HQ stream, because it shows the current audio quality of each track in the play queue view in the lower left corner of the album cover.

Note that Deezer’s HiFi catalogue is almost as big as their general one, but you may have downloaded some albums which are not available in FLAC format yet.

Sorry, I should have clarified; I'm talking about mobile. On desktop it's clear to see the tracks are flac... But on phone it looks like it's downloading MP3s.. How do you know when it's streaming hifi if its downloading mp3? See the point I'm making? 

The mobile apps are theoretically able to stream in HiFi quality now, but Deezer is rolling out the new app versions progressively, so not everyone already has them on their mobile devices. I only use the desktop app, so I cannot check this, But as far as I know, the mobile apps also have an audio quality indicator on the album cover now.

I'm talking about the updated app no offense, but your commentary isn't helpful here…

Did you have the songs downloaded already? I found it doesn’t resize load them once you switch to HiFi. On iOS you can see either HiFi or HQ on the album art signifying the quality. 

I did have them downloaded, but I completely wiped the data and cache and moved Deezer from internal storage to SD…

You raise a good point re: HQ/HIFI on the album art.. I've checked and every track is coming up HiFi. This should make me feel better, but it makes me even more suspicious. I've put it in offline mode and HiFi disappears... This doesn't mean much because it's an icon that needs an Internet connection to validate itself, I'm assuming. Anyway that icon is largely irrelevant when we know the files are around 5MB big on average... Deezer really needs to clarify this... I mean, what's the point in downloading 5MB and then streaming 25MB per song? (average FLAC size)? That would mean you only save your data by 16.6% by downloading the song...? It makes no sense.
