There should be no gap between tracks running into each other. This is a basic thing for the listeners experience.

@Rudi  THANK YOU!

This has been a long time coming and is very much appreciated.  I just upgraded to the FLAC service to take advantage of this feature.

I look forward to seeing it roll out across other platforms. :)

Hello,

I’m using Deezer via desktop app on Windows and I find it appealing, but the gaps between tracks are so annoying, especially because almost everything I listen to, is meant to be gapless.

Until you fix this (considered to be industrial standard long before 2020), I’m forced to use other Hifi streaming service :unamused:

Hey @Vladimír H

Sorry to hear that. We get you, completely. Hang in there a bit longer, our gapless for desktop is being worked on - it's just a bit later comparing to the mobile apps :v_tone2:

Thx Rudi, I’d like to use Deezer, since I actually like your app and music portfolio better than Tidal. Just that experience listening with gaps is quite ruined tbh.. Anyway, my subscription ends in more than two weeks, so fingers crossed that you make it :)

@Vladimír H I’m looking forward to reading from you :wink: I’m very happy about finally having the gapless on my side, so far I didn’t notice anything wrong, even the playlists with titles from various albums sound great :grin:

First of all I want to apologise for posting without having read the whole thread but it's just too long.

Anyway, I am currently in my trial period for Deezer Hi-Fi and quite baffled to see that gapless playback in still a topic in 2020.

As far as I can see gapless playback works fine in the Deezer Android app when set at “Hi-Fi quality” but there are two ways that I can use to play music on my stereo and both have problems with gapless playback:

  • Deezer client in my Onkyo A/V receiver. This is my most convenient option to stream on my stereo but the gap between tracks is horrendous. You can actually read “buffering” on the Onkyo screen before the next track begins.
  • Deezer Android app controlling a Chromecast Audio device connected to the Onkyo receiver. This configuration doesn't support gapless playback either. I want to point out that the Google Play Music app supports gapless playback over Chromecast without any issue.

So in short, I can listen to classical music or The Dark Side Of The Moon on my phone with earphones but there is no way to do so on my main audio system.

I am quite disappointed.
