External USB DACs support for Deezer

Hello,

Saw several similar posts, but they were not created at “”Got an idea” section.

The suggestion is to implement function of Deezer player to directly connect external USB DAC’s at smartphones (bypassing the operating system mixer).

Since smartphone makers refuse using 3.5 mm mini jack, audiophiles pay attention to adapters with DAC. It’s assortment is growing - number of reviews on YouTube and feedbacks at Ali confirm this.

Streaming platforms as Tidal and Qobuz allow to output sound directly to external DAC through application “USB Audio Player Pro”. Deezer has no such function.

In my opinion implementation of this function at Deezer application itself (without workaround) will become a competitive advantage of service and will attract additional audience of audiophiles.

        So I’m new to Deezer and trying to catch up… I’m currently streaming Deezer via a BlueSound Node 2, but I’m shopping for an upgraded DAC. Do I understand correctly that I will not be able to run Deezer on a laptop or tablet connected to the DAC via USB or I2S and use the DAC to process the streaming files?

        This will be a deal-breaker for me. Why would I pay for HiFi streaming and then use a terrible built-in DAC?

          @Rudi - Any word on this yet? At the moment, I’m still enjoying Deezer with my BlueSound DAC. But I’m also still shopping for an upgraded DAC and understand that I’ll have to drop Deezer if I buy it before you guys get this working. I like Deezer so far, so I want to be able to take into account any effort you’re making to fix this before I cancel my subscription.

            Thank you for your support and for your patience. This idea currently sits on the backlog/pipeline for our product teams and developers to consider developing in the near future.               As i understand - the only one way to listen Deezer directly to DAC is to use Apple camera adapter to Lighting with iPhone.

              Or using OSX.

                Getting attention to this subject again. We really need external USB DAC functionality. Currently using crappy laptop DAC. I have a Topping E30 DAC, but I cannot use it with Deezer. This should be priority story number one on your scrum backlog!  One off the strong selling points with Deezer is premium lossless soundquality. This makes no sense when we cannot use our own good equipment. Can you guys give a status update?

                  This suggestion remains in our backlog - which means development hasn't started yet. But as other features get developed, and the idea gets more votes, this goes up on the list.

                      Hi! Totally agree, this is a most needed improvement, mostly taking into consideration that some of us are paying for a hi-fi service under the assumption that we want to make the most of the service.

                        All players that support USB DACs have terrible UX from early 2010s.
                        I really want to use my amplifier with Deezer Hi-Fi only. A huge library and a nice interface are the most important things for me.
