Hi @aromo69

Thank you for your honest feedback. We're tackling this issue as we speak, and since this topic was open, the limit was increased in other devices (from 1000 to 2000) and we developed countless new features. We're working hard to figure this out so please bear with us a bit longer, it's a development that takes time :v_tone2:

Pls increase more than 2000 songs.

A properly option can be a transfer all favorites into a Playlist.

So, is there a chance to transfer my favorites into a Playlist?

Hi @Ro_Berter

if you use the Deezer web player or desktop app on a computer you can select all and then add to a playlist! :)

I hope this helps any questions please ask! :)

Good day.

Not just increase to let’s say 5 or 10 000, but unlimited.

I mean yes, playlist maybe limited, but make likes unlimited. Like on Google Music. I mean what? Music is my medicine and I always enjoy collecting likes. Limit playlist to 10 000, but do not end ability to like sending message likes full. It does it now. Let me like unlimited, and show on liked tracks latest 10 000. Liking music should be unlimited. Show what you can on list, but keep likes.

Since music is my life, my greatest reason to live: I can’t see myself caged to 2000 or 5000 likes only. I ask Deezer to listen music fans like me, because we are the voice of everyone.

Some music starters may not understand how important this is, until one day…

But we, we speak today about what you can value tomorrow.

I listen 10+ hours of music each day and I know exactly how important it is.

Well, if this thread has achieved one thing, it’s letting me know that Spotify has removed their limits entirely, triggering me to cancel my Deezer subscription and move back over to them (their old 10,000 limit was why I originally left, it counted songs on albums towards the limit while Deezer did not).

I really love Deezer but you guys have always seemed fine leaving vital features missing for years at a time, while implementing plenty of changes no one really wants (for example, constant and arbitrary UI changes that don’t really achieve anything and ). While you respond a lot here in the community forums, not much makes it’s way through to development. I think both the Community Managers and Development Team get a bit too much flak, I have a feeling the issue is with higher management not allocating enough technical resource for user-driven change and I have a strong feeling very few of them use the app or listen to music much overall, given how out of touch with the user-base some of the decisions and responses have felt, it’s often like they don’t understand their own UX. I feel like there’s too much focus on the needs use cases of the 80% “normal” listeners, and a complete disregard of the 20% music-loving users with larger libraries. What no-one seems to realise though is that if you get everything set up perfectly for those 20%, then everything automatically falls in place for the 80% too as their just using the same system in a scaled down way.

Going back to Spotify has been a breath of fresh air to be honest. I still don’t like them as as an overall company as much as Deezer, the listen-based artist-paying system you guys are working on is an incredible and industry-changing concept if you can implement it. The sad fact is though, that since using Spotify I’ve been rediscovering all sorts of music that was already in my library, but was just simply invisible to me on the Deezer android app because I had more than 1000 albums. It’s like I was living without a limb but didn’t realise until it grew back.

Another unexpected benefit has been a massive increase in my phone’s battery life while listening to music, even while streaming Spotify over mobile data vs listening to albums I’d downloaded on Deezer. Their app feels a lot more responsive and polished too, though I’ll admit they’ve made some awful and aggressive design decisions in the past and it’s still not structured in quite the best way for my use case.

Regardless, I will keep an eye on this thread going forwards for sure, and gladly switch back to Deezer if you implement something worthwhile, but unfortunately given my last few years using the app and reading these forums, I just can’t trust that any update will a) happen any time soon, or b) be enough of an improvement or c) really be in line with what people want.

If you implement a proper library style system, with no item limits (or at least very high ones) then I’ll be back here as fast as I can. I have a feeling though that all that’s going to happen is an increase to the number of songs you can like to a better-but-still-not-great limit, 10,000 if we’re lucky, but that doesn’t really resolve the underlying issues. Spotify had a 10,000 limit for years and scrapped that entirely in favour of no limit at all. If you want to truly compete with them, you’ll need to match them on that sort of thing, it’s not that technologically difficult.

If I turn out to be wrong, that’s honestly fantastic, but I feel like the disregard of what users want over the past few years has led me to have such low expectations. Little would please me more than being proven simply to be unfaithful and pessimistic, but I’m not confident that will happen. Please try to anyway.

This mixed with other issues discussed widely across these forums, I believe is symptomatic of the people who decide the direction of the app not truly understanding the app itself or the way users want to use it.

Thank you nonetheless, you’ve still provided a great service to me in many ways, and I genuinely hope to be back with you at some point.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@dreamt_bulldozer

Great post!  Having been with Deezer since 2016 (and the one who originally started this thread) I agree with many of your points.  However I do think that Deezer’s approach has massively changed over the last 12 months and I know they’re working on changing this limit (to what that will be I’m not sure) and other features in the pipeline.

I also agree about the Spotify app (I’m an Android user) - it does seem to work a lot “slicker/smoothly” than Deezer’s but again bigger budget and probably a bit further down the road with development, again I’m confident the Deezer user experience will become a more friendly and polished/less buggy product (across all platforms) in the future!  I hope to see you back on here again, thanks again for your detailed post :)

Hey @dreamt_bulldozer

I pretty much agree with what Rob said above too, and obviously with your heartfelt and intelligent feedback on our service as a whole. It's very very appreciated.

We do have more of our users wants' in mind than you might think - it's just that the user feedback feeds not only from the community but other channels as well, so sometimes it's hard to see. Our community team is working to improve this connection with our developers and product managers here at Deezer and give it back in a transparent way so that you can see all these little adjustments that have been put through here for a long time, being developed.

I'm going to forward your comments to several teams here, word by word, so they can all see how we can take Deezer to another level. And I'm glad you've subscribed to the topic, as I aim to give you good news one day.

Take good care and don't be a stranger! :v_tone2:

I haven’t read this thread, i make my playlists in spotif and then import them into deezer. I have deezer Hi-Fi for my lounge and then  a seperate deezer family pack for the family. I made a playlist in Spotify today of some favorite classics from my life, but it’s bigger than the max limit for deezer, very frustrating as I am now pretty much stuck listening to this particular playlist only on spotify

INCREASE THE LIMIT!

Thanks for the input @Ripley Harrison

We definitely agree with you and this has been prioritised so it's under development. It'll take some time to get implemented but it's on the works.

In the meantime you could perhaps split that playlist in 2 and add both to Deezer - you can have 2000 playlists saved :thumbsup_tone2:

Please can Deezer have more than a 2000 favorite song limit ..... Surely with the prices we all pay we can do more

It's on the plans now, so the votes are more 'vanity' @hpguru :yum: I really want to push for more priority to be added to the project once the idea hits 1000 votes - a community-first :money_mouth:

It will happen. Not too much for that thousands.

My liked tracks now 1298.

I used to be a deezer user for a past 3 years. But this limitation is really heave for me. I am using Spotify now and it’s not as good as Deezer but it has no limitation. I am watching this thread and will switch back to deezer as soon they resolve it.

1355 likes here.

Thank you for following this thread. I do same job.

Everyday I hope it will happen.

I am reaching this limit next year for sure.

Great to see conversation is going strong.

Who will be 1000’s voter to win the price?

1001 votes and counting! The first-ever suggestion to hit these many!

Thank you for all users who dedicated their time here supporting a vital feature to take Deezer to the next level. This has been under development and we hope to have more info about it soon! :v_tone2:

You started all of this, Mr Legend @Rob Igo can you imagine we'd be here one day? Wow

This post is 2 years old???????? This is crazy, this must be a joke. I'm sorry I really like Deezer but our journey ends here. I need more space for songs, that's pretty much all I do on my phone. See you soon (maybe not). Try to migrate asap to other platform, I can't believe I am stuck with 2000 songs.

When is this feature added? This must be illegal by now!

Hey @Alessio Tomasino

Thank you for your honest input.

If you read through the topic, you'll see that you can add more music to your favourites by creating playlists (2000 is the limit, so quite a lot). It's a workaround for the time being, because as you can see, an increase is under development :v_tone2:

I heard it will not be unlimited? But add at least one 0 to it.

1 000 liked tracks should be 10 000 liked tracks as a starter.
