Deezer Favourite Tracks Limit of 2000 too small - please increase it!

I also vote for this to be changed. I wrote about it to your support email few years ago and just now found this topic in Google. Would be good if you listen to yours paying subscribers and prio this instead of little changes in the UI of the app.

I use Deezer for about 2 years with subscription. Few month ago, when I bought new smartphone I realized that most tracks are corrupted. Problem is in Honor/Huawei devices, but problem is still here (I fixed it by HQ in settings). Also in the same time I caught app crashing when add to favourites. But, as I thought, it wasn't every time. Now I get app crash every single time I add track to favourites. I couldn't handle it anymore and found this topic. A year, seriously? I can understand your limitations (btw it doesn't show anywhere, while you don't reach it), but what the barbarian app crashes? Why developers doesn't handle exceptions? Why should I restart app every time when I do something "wrong"?

"Solution" with moving tracks from favourites to playlists is not solution at all, because what about suggestions? Which works not good after all. I thought I have small base of songs I like, and suggestions will be better when my track base will grown. But now I see it won't.

I know you can do better.

At least one year and absolutely no progress has been made?? This "technical problem" could have been solved in a matter of weeks, and yet here we are seeing no improvement in YEARS. Especially when this has been a non-issue with competitors for YEARS. The original iPod advertised being able to store up to a 1000 songs in 2001. Two thousand and one. Get to work.

As of today i'm spotify premium user. Fuck this ignorance.

Why is this feature marked as implemented?!

I did not understand, the suggestion was to raise the 2k limit. This has not yet been done.

Are not you planning to increase this limit?

That's great that there's some progress. Does this mean I'll be able to see up to 2000 albums in my library's album list in the Android app (if that counts as a sort of playlist of albums)?

It doesn't apply to albums, I'm afraid. But we're still looking into it so please bear with us.

For me, 2,000 favourite tracks is not enough. I have reached that limit already!

Because of the liking feature (heart symbol) in Flow, I add a lot of good songs automatically to the playlist of loved tracks.

I would therefore ask Deezer to please increase this limit for favourite songs.

On Tidal you can save 9,999 songs in a playlist and you can have 9,999 playlists/favourite albums/favourite songs/favourite artists.

On the German support page of Deezer I found this information:

It states that the 2,000 items rule also goes for albums, which, in my opinion, is not enough.

I wish that I could save, say 4,000 favourite abums and 8,000 songs.

Please, Deezer, extend the limits (as a Premium plan subscriber I pay for the service and my library is already not big enough for my fave songs/albums).

Yes, I have created a new playlist on my own for „loved tracks part 2“.

But when I like songs in the Flow/recommendations, my feedback automatically adds them to the very limited auto generated playlist of favourite songs (which is full).

One year has gone, and we have nothing.
I have music library with more than 1 thousand artists.
So I can only add 2 songs from each of them to favorite songs.

" I'd suggest you move some of the tracks from your Favorites to other playlists or just create a second "Favorites" list and just move all tracks to that one. (That's very simple on browser) 😉"

Better to change you to another streaming service.

I've read today that Spotify have made changes to how your store music in "Your Library". They now allow 10k items, 1 album counts as 1 item, and 1 favourite track counts as 1 item - so a lot bigger than before (which was all the albums tracks counted towards the 10k limit).

I hope Deezer are still working on this?

Sorry for the late reply. This is certainly being discussed but I know from our Product Managers that it won't be expanded in the near future. Other features are now taking priority. In any case, I've passed the feedback on to them because we need to be aware of what our competitors are doing 😉

Hope this will be the next update, after the Dark Mode. Spotify made a mess out of saved songs with the last update and a large number of favouritable songs could help draw them to Deezer 😉

Perhaps not soon - but it's been discussed for quite some time. We've got some new features in the pipeline for the summer. But if anything changes will let you know 😉

@Rudi thank you for your reply. I believe the reason for limits is quite critical why it can’t be solved fast. And of course other features are also important for users. Let’s wait when.

@Rob Igo: Has there been an official statement or news article about that change? I just checked their main Ideas thread (with more than 10k votes for an increase) with users still complaining about the limit, but also mentioning the change to 10k albums, but no recent staff comments:

Anyhow, it is an interesting move, as I mainly save whole albums to my library, not individual songs, and want to shuffle my complete library when listening. So I created a lot of large playlists in several folders on Spotify, and it seems I still have to do that for shuffling my library, as the Album section does not offer an overall Play All button.

Yes, there are a lot of things to do: set a song for alarm or ring tone, hifi family plan, more hifi devices ( especially hifi devices such as Astell kern, fiio, shanling, etc).....But this topic is, in my opinion, the top priority once dark mode has been implemented. The reason is that everyday we listen to new songs or we re-discover old songs from our childhood (or before..).
So, please, focus on this topic 🙂

I agree with ALL here, and there os no excuse for taking so long on fixing this issue. I'm here thinking of change music stream service even Tidal seems better.

Yes, this is the point where the experience with Deezer is stopping for many ones who meet the limit.

Hi, This was my reason for cancelling my subscription and moving to spotify. and I hate spotify. this upsets me. i love so much music! you can't limit people! Please fix this technical difficulty so I can come back! - I found myself listening to the same music ovcer and over too, and I drive a lot for work so. any FLOW type lists became very monotonous - I also hate the radio and I had to revert to turning deezer off and entering the white noise of the free to air radio frequencies!!!!
