Control Alexa from Deezer app

Not having the basic functionality of your main two competitors is a hell of a thing to have to trade off against. What exactly does Deezer offer that makes it worth not being able to use the Deezer app itself to play music?

While i will be continuing my subscription to deezer lest a better service arrives it is very disappointing that this highly requested feature is not being considered. With mass Exodus from Spotify due to how they use their money and who they accept money from i would expect a company like deezer to jump at the opportunity to implement features like this in order to retain new customers. While i understand the disillusionment with Amazon products i have had my echo dot for 8 years and frankly i cannot afford an upgrade to a sonos. Though we are a vocal few i personally have friends who have decided not to use deezer because of things like this. Users like us are looking for something that replaced an existing part of our life, not sn entire lifestyle change. Rest assured that for every person who goes through the tedious process of posting here there are many more for whom it is far simpler to unsubscribe and walk away. I do hope that the consistent feedback from the users here encourage someone to take this seriously rather than dismiss all further inquiries with what boils down to “tough luck, you can take your money elsewhere.” 

2026 Deezer do not work very well with Alexa. Yes. A 6 year disappoint.

Just been on Deezer for a few months now, loving flow. But the Alexa skill is a bit limited and the fact that I can't even choose echo devices to cast to from the app, let alone control the stream from there, really hampers it. If the Alexa skill could actually play playlists, and auto song and artist playlists properly with voice commands, the casting/controlling from app wouldn't be as important. But it seems like a really basic thing to not have sorted in 7 years. I already have a house full of echo devices so obviously not going to be spending thousands of dollars to replace them all with different devices. When I left Spotify the options were Deezer or Amazon music. Amazon music’s “station” type function just kept rehashing the same tracks from the same artists, so Flow was much better which is why I went with Deezer. But then it's this Echo integration being terrible that makes me reconsider

moved from spotify to Deezer and couldn’t remote control of my music from my phone is a shame.

It's ridiculous that things like that are just being ignored.

Okay, I honestly have to say this is pretty disappointing.

Before I tried Deezer, a few people actually told me not to switch because Deezer supposedly lacks some basic features compared to Spotify. I still wanted to give it a fair chance because I don’t like judging something without trying it myself.

And overall, I really wanted to like Deezer.

But then I found out that I can’t simply open the Deezer app, choose one of my Alexa / Echo speakers as the playback device and control the music from my phone.

Seriously?

This is something that feels completely normal on Spotify. You open the app, choose the speaker, done. No strange workaround, no Bluetooth pairing, no telling Alexa what to play every time.

And apparently I’m not even close to being the only one who is annoyed by this. There are already several discussions from users asking for exactly this feature, and some of them have been around for years.

So this is not some weird special request from one person.

A lot of people clearly want this.

That makes it even harder to understand why it still isn’t available.

We’re talking about a music streaming app in 2026. Being able to choose a smart speaker directly from the app really shouldn’t feel like some futuristic premium feature.

I was warned about things like this before trying Deezer, and I honestly hoped those people were just being overly negative.

Unfortunately, right now it feels like they had a point.

I still want to give Deezer a chance, but things like this make it unnecessarily hard when competitors have offered this kind of functionality for years.

Please finally add proper Alexa / Echo device selection and playback control directly inside the Deezer app.
