Can you please add gender non-specified as a gender option

Please make any info correct. I know some cases where user provided company with fake email, fake data of birthday, and what else. All not right. His account was hacked, and he had subscription on it. Paying for that. No option to verify customer since he didn’t know his account details.

One girl has forgotten password, she was not able to recover it, since email was not known by her, since it was not personal and she couldn’t verify account for her name with data she needed.

Everything you add to Deezer, as personal, stays personal.

I doubt it. We talk about data and information technology where nothing is secure.

It’s a matter of informational self-determation and personal data economy.

In your logic I should give a company as much information as possible to identify me. Scary.

Most people give it already using Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Apple eco systems.

It is important to opt out, I hope they will add it.

Uh, you’re either a man or a woman… except if you’re not. For me it’s less about privacy and more about the invalidation of non-binary identities. But privacy matters too, which is why I think it‘s best to have both an other/non-binary option and an unspecified/not given option.

Your info is definitely secure - I'm a user myself so I can assure you we take this very very seriously.

About the gender option, it can be used in different ways, for different purposes - but the good news is that I've chased the teams for this (working in 2 big departments) and they confirmed they're currently working on it

I want to try Deezer as an alternative to Spotify - but I can’t signup without either saying I’m Male or Female and giving my age.

You state ( https://www.deezer.com/legal/personal-datas )that Deezer collects gender and age data to personalise adverts, but also that I can disable that.

If I disable advert personalisation, you no longer have any reason to store my gender (or age) - do I have to make a GDPR request just to have you remove it?

As a side note: Since your Terms & Conditions require accurate information (Article 7 “The Subscriber agrees to provide true, accurate and genuine information about himself/herself in connection with his/her registration with the Site and the Deezer Web Service.”) - by only providing two genders you’re dsicriminating against non-binary people. This is illegal in the EU (who you allow as customers since you have the GDPR addition).

Solution: You don’t have to pretend to care about people’s identity - just make the field optional and people who still want to use Deezer despite your ideologies can do so legally.

Yes, we can change things but we've got some dedicated teams now at Deezer looking at how to make this work properly so that you know that we really care about our users' identity. This is also so that we carry out a transition, compliant with GDPR, to the right ways of storing this type of customer data. We're working in the background to complete this. Please bear with us until we get it right 

In the meantime, I'll forward your comments internally at Deezer so that everyone is aware of the impact this is causing.
