Missing feature that Spotify has: choosing Sonos wifi speaker directly from Deezer iOS app. Currently you need to use Sonos app to play deezer on your Sonos wifi system.
Highly welcome function!

Hey everyone,
We're pleased to let you know that this is being developed as part of our 'remote control' feature this year. I'll surely share more details once I have them, in the near future.
Thank you for all your support and see you in a bit!

Hello there
Here is the latest news, posted by
“Actually I have to say that news are not that good. Apologies for the misinformation coming from one of my replies in a Sonos related thread in the community.
Sonos support for Deezer connect is not available in any country yet and there is no ETA either.
What we recently launched in France and the US was Deezer on Sonos Voice Control and support for the Flow Moods.
As soon as I have information regarding Deezer Connect I’ll let you know”
So, while it might not be the news you were hoping for, deezer connect has been rolled out, we all did get an update, and progress continues.
Cheers,
G
Then i will cancel my premium subscription. Thank you for the answer.
Same here, will be getting back to Spotify
Anybody have any luck getting their subscription refunded over this? I just came back to Deezer from Spotify having completely forgotten this is the reason I left in the first place!
Not sure I am understanding the issue here. When I am at my son’s home I can Airplay from my Deezer to his Sonos amp with all the functionality of the Deezer app in my hands. The sound quality is likely as good as one can discern in a Sonos system, and sounds great through his KEF speakers.
As an android user I don't know much about airplay, but I understand that this routes the stream via your phone, unlike Spotify connect where you use the Spotify app to set up a direct stream straight to your Sonos speaker. Besides this, airplay is only an iOS this as far as I'm aware.

Could you add a Chromecast device to the stream?
Yep I've got a nest hub and Chromecast TV which I can stream to directly from the deezer app with no problems at all, but for my Sonos speakers I still need to go through the cumbersome Sonos app. Chromecast doesn't seem to be the problem, just integration with Sonos.

Bummer. I don’t know enough about Android to give a good answer. As a family we all migrated over to iOS. Why can’t all the tech companies learn to get along? Having said that I still have Apple Music as a back up, it is much better now that they went lossless, but all my playlists are on Deezer. Frustrating.
I will also cancel my subscription for this reason. I am sorry Deezer.
I guess there’s no news here?
So basically Deezer is not willing to implement this feature. So there's no way to stream directly from the deezer app on an android phone to sonos speakers? You have to go through the Sonos App which is absolutely horrendous. Sad that deezer is not able to provide such a feature, which means, I will not be moving anytime soon and have to stick to spotify. Seems like very sad excuses from deezer and their dev team.
I am also deeply disappointed that nothing has been happening in this respect for years now. I have lost hope as well.
This is really one of the most needed features. Chromecast is quite unstable, and the players' apps are not as featured as the Deezer one. Direct control of speakers, Sonos ones in particular, would be a big improvement.
Deezer is not willing to implement this feature. After keeping promising it for YEARS, but never delivering, they are now suddenly admitting that it is not even on the roadmap. See comments from the community manager Yula on the thread „Sonos Direct play, or lyrics“ for further details (or rather lack thereof).
I am quite mad at Deezer because of this behaviour, as you can imagine. Many people have left Deezer because of this. I will do the same once my 1 year subscription expires.
We definitely hope to be able to achieve that at some point, but we don’t have an ETA yet though.
Apologies for the inconvenience
Has this been sorted yet? I really like Deezer and just signed on for a year, but did not realise this issue. Such a shame.
Also, does it show in the Sonos app if I am streaming Deezer in HiFi quality? I have a Sonos Arc, but can't see if I am streaming in HiFi when using Deezer.
Being able to access my SONOS system from Deezer would be greatly appreciated. I listen to music while I’m working outside or spending time on my deck but use Bluetooth devices for this directly from the Deezer app. I would like the ability to come inside and continuing listening by transferring to my SONOS devices. Currently I have to stop Deezer, go into SONOS and try and find where I left off on a playlist or flow and try to resume. I originally started with Tidal as they have this integration but I wasn’t able to upload any of my music that they didn’t have in their catalog which is why I moved to Deezer.
I talked to my development team about this feature, showed it in Spotify and they thought it could not be more than a few weeks work for one developer (probably less for someone who's been involved with this app for a long time).
If Deezer want some help, I'm happy to talk and work out a way for my team to build this feature.
It really shouldn't take this long.
How are we still waiting on this feature that Spotify has had for years 😔 how can it take so long.
This is really basic stuff in 2024.
For Chromecast audio it works. But of course Google stopped producing chromecast audio some time ago. It also works in Android auto, whether controlling via the Google version of the app or directly from my Deezer app on the phone.
Sonos has had its issues in 2024, but this request has been outstanding for over 6 years, during which it was even promised it was coming.
Right now, the biggest advantage with Deezer is the price. It doesn't increase if you auto renew, so I'm still paying €89 a year, and with Sonos you don't need a family account because everyone in the family can have an own speaker and play different music at the same time on each speaker.
But if Spotify releases a HiFi equivalent tier, even if it's more, I'm going to have a hard time justifying staying with Deezer.
Hi Jamie, my offer to get a dev team onto this feature still stands.
