Deezer offers ways to hide and filter out explicit content, but I prefer to listen to music as the artist intended. Please add an option to be recommended explicit content and to hide the censored version of the album.
If I go to an artist's page and select discography if there are two versions of the same album (clean or explicit) only the censored version of an album appears
So far the only way for me to find the uncensored version is to do a search of the album, is there a setting that I can select that means I will be able to see the explicit version instead.
Please note that Do not recommend explicit content is disabled
Thank you for your input. At the moment you've got the right settings, unfortunately there isn't a filter for only explicit content. I've moved your comment here so that you can support this idea with the rest of us 👍🏼
Is there a way to simply choose if you would prefer explicit/clean songs? As I prefer explicit versions that haven't been altered but clean versions seem to be the first choice for playlists such as flow
Thanks for your input. At the moment you can only filter the explicit ones out, but I've moved your comment here so that you can support an existing idea
Hey @FiftyFour I agree, like duplicates, right? We're doing some work on our technology that actually detects explicit content so I assume that our teams already have something like this in mind thank you for your input as well @Igor993
Can you please make a switch or something som you kan switch from censored to uncensored music? Its som anoying when everything is censored... Maybe you cuold make a "kids mode" som kids can use this feauture, because its anoying to anyone else. I know you can still find the uncensptee, but i dont need censored Songs to an option IT just makes me mad when I acedentially listen to the blurred version…
Yep have to agree. Biggest frustration for me is when you’re using Flow and it starts playing a clean version of a song instead of the original. Doubly annoying if I already have the original/explicit version in my favourites.
Thank you for your contribution to this topic. I'll be forwarding your comments to the relevant teams here at Deezer - don't forget to vote above if you haven't done so!
Please do this I'm 31 years old I only want to hear music as it was originally produced I get that you guys don't always get a explicit and clean version of songs but all I want is the explicit versions when I listen to flow. Otherwise song sound chopped to hell and it really just makes me want to unsubscribe…...
It’s been a little over 10 months now, can we have an update on this?
Where is Deezer on bringing this live?
I surely would expect that for every user that has not turned on “Don’t recommend explicit tracks” should always get the explicit versions of the tracks if available, on all recommendations, mixes, flow, search results, etc not otherwise.
Thought I'd bump this thread again in case someone working there sees it
I take it they aren't planning on fixing this? I tried going through and using the "don't recommend this track" feature on hundreds of censored songs to try and get flow to choose the normal versions but it seems to just confuse the algorithm away from music I like
I love the service Deezer provides, and I love being able to get hi-fi audio and gladly pay the higher rates. However this issue has been infuriating as there has been no progress on fixing it in 3 years. To further compound the problem, google/Alexa/Siri don't pick an explicit song and asking them to play the explicit version just makes them start the same censored version all over again.
I love the service but I can't say that I would recommend Deezer to people who like explicit content. Furthermore every time it happens I get closer to unsubscribing. It's worn on me enough and it's not like it's a request that is extreme to implement given that the tagging and fetching algorithms already have a mechanism to AVOID what we are asking for.
I’m new to Deezer as google/youtube music was messing me about (liked songs disappearing).
This is honestly more annoying; I may well end up not paying for Deezer if it keeps playing clean versions. How such a simple problem hasn’t been dealt with despite being on the radar for years...
Actually created an account on the forums just to see if this exact thing was suggested already, as it’s something that’s bugged me for a while now. Lo and behold this thread has been up since 2019, and had a few other duplicates merged into it. Doesn’t bode well for the feature being implemented, but I may as well give my two cents anyway. Not a fan of duplicate discographies and stripped down tunes cropping up when the platform has the originals available for listening. If explicit music is enabled by the listener, I have to imagine the listener wants explicit versions of a song when it exists. If a song from the same band and album title has an explicit version, it would be so much nicer if it only showed and recommended the explicit version.
