New Deezer API

Hi,

any news of new Deezer API. We used Deezer HiFi subscription to listen musing on high end devices (Blusound node 2i streamer connected analog to external high end amplifiers)  but current API is very limiting to Deezer application.

We are missing customized content,  HiFI Room, and other options. I even have feeling that Flow  is different using API and mobile phone app.

Any hint?

Thank you

Hi,

coming again with same question - is there any update about API improvement.

Deezer API is far worse than Deezer Client:

  • there is no customized content except Flow
  • there is no HiFi Room
  • Flow choices are very strange and different from Flow on client - you do not have clue where those songs are coming from, no any connection to what you liste
  • Marking favorites is very confusing - labeling is so bad that you are never sure are you adding or remving song/artist from favorites
  • Bass is too strong (I am npt sure is this up to API or Deezer - BlueOS claims it is not up to them)

We user Deezer HiFi to listen HiFi musing on high end devices over BlueSound Node Player. That's the purpose of Deezer HiFi

Unfortunately Deezer API is really preventing good user experience for Deezer. It is not good API.

Thanks,

Bosko

Any info orupdate @Deezer @Rafael. ?

I second this motion. It would be much faster to have users submit their modifications on the deezer client. Why not just have a container for users to make adjustments then upload their custom changes to you where your team can review it and decide whether to add it or not? I dont see why that would be impossible?

I use the BluOS Controller. I have Deezer Hi-Fi. I have added favorite artists to My Music. They are not in any apparent order. Alpha would be nice. However, for a few days last week the list came through so it appeared to be the same as on the Deezer app recently added sort. The most recent two or three artists were listed, then all the others in reverse alpha order. At least this made it easier to find favorite artists.

I know Blusound did not make this change so Deezer must have done something  briefly in the API. Can you make the feed in alpha order?

This is a cut and paste I posted today from another thread here on the forums:

I’ve followed this topic for a while now and expect to make a decision soon as to whether I stay with Deezer or not over this whole issue.

In January this year I purchased an NAD M33 - it’s a fantastic piece of kit with amazing power, sound and features. Unfortunately with the BluOS system that NAD uses I cannot stream direct to the NAD as I can with Spotify or Tidal. I can only connect to Deezer via the ‘Music Services’ tab in BluOS which merely gives me a logged on, ‘cut down’ functionality version of the full Deezer app. I cannot sort or order tracks, albums or artists at all via this method - and it is sloooowwwww to do anything.

I am evaluating a free Qobuz offer but they also do not support a direct feature, and even though their sound quality is excellent, they just do not have the range of tracks and albums that Deezer has.

I have tried Tidal and do not like the sound or the cost even though they have Tidal connect in BluOS.

So, with Spotify announcing that they will release a Hi Fi tier before the end of the year I am waiting to see what this sounds like and costs me before probably making the jump over to their system. Spotify connect on BluOS is simple, elegant and FAST (and while far from perfect it even sounds pretty ok with their current lossy stream)

I must say that Deezer seems to offer the best financial return for artists which is important for me - I like to know that artist’s are getting supported as best they can and will feel bad about this if I have to move over to Spotify later this year, but I simply cannot afford to have more than one streaming service for music. It’s a balance of cost, sound quality, features and ethics - a hard one to meet sometimes.

I note your continued reference to the new-ish IOS remote feature as a testing ground for future expansion to other operating systems. Great, I support and applaud that movement, but as I use only Android, BluOS and Windows it matters little to my decisions. I love Deezer and use it always in the car via my Android phone - fantastic!

Thanks
