Ability To Rate Favorite Tracks From 1-5 stars

I’d love to have the ability to rate my favorite songs from 1 to 5 stars,

so, if I’ve 500+ tracks, I’d like to play only my really favorite songs.

Updated idea status NewIn discussion

it sounds interesting :)

One way to do that now.

Creat *, **, *** etc. up ti 5 stars lists.

I personally would not like one to five liking system on Deezer.

It is too much effort for lazy person like me to decide.

Thumbs up and thumbs down would be much appreciated however.

I was going to add a new suggestion but found this one as similar, so better will add my thoughts here.

Comprehensive personal rating system (stars or something like this) is one of two thing I miss in Deezer the most.

I understand that this is my personal style of listening - I want to have my personal rate on every song I hear, and of course just having “favourite” and “do not recommend this song” is not enough. I’ve use favourites for something very special, but there are a lot of just good songs or songs that only fit some mood/situation etc, and I want to mark them accordingly. Usually I rate everything (movies, books, songs) with 1 to 10 scores, but even 1 to 5 stars will be super. Also 5-star system may have half-star options for people, who need more nuances, so it results in 10 scores for them. Of course it can be even more simplier 3-rate system: thumb up/tumb down/neutral — it’s not enough for me but it is much better than nothing, especially if there will be “neutral” option (or marked as listened without rating).

In case of 5 star system every option may be clearly named to let people easily rate songs:

⋆ - terrible (do not recommend this song)
⋆⋆ - bad (don’t like it but may fit some situation/enviroment/mood)
⋆⋆⋆ - average/neutral
⋆⋆⋆⋆ - good (nothing special but I like it in general)
⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ - perfect/masterpiece (may be equal to favourite ♥️ but also it may be different because not all perfect songs become favourites and some non-perfect songs may be favourites becouse of memoires or associations).

That system may use not stars but numbers or different marks, e.g.: :no_entry_sign::thumbsdown: , :white_circle: , :heart:

Also stars rating for ALBUMS not only songs!

Stars rating is pretty basic and missing functionality that forces me use still use other players.  The current heart like (on/off) option is not enough for me to classify how much I like the song.

This would also allow Flow to give better suggestions since it could weight songs by stars instead of just the heart/like or how often I listen to them or whatever other algorithms it uses.

As a recent Deezer subscriber, I agree the inability to rate tracks/albums with a 1-5 system is a significant weakness. Absent such a system forces a dichotomy of musical taste, which is really anathema to how music is truly appreciated. I especially appreciate and agree with the brilliant idea offered by pgruebele “This would also allow Flow to give better suggestions since it could weight songs by stars instead of just the heart/like or how often I listen to them or whatever other algorithms it uses.”
