WE NEED FOLDERS TO ORGANISE OUR MUSIC

I have over 400 playlists. I got an idea and sometimes I use hashtags and numbers to organize them.
When I want to sort playlists by mood, genre or something else, I will put a hashtag and a number in front of each playlist name.

For example:
#1 I want to use this tag to label rock playlists:

Then I will name the playlists
#1 metal
#1 rock ballads
#1 alternative etc.

#2 I want to use this tag to label Happy vibes playlists 
#2 dance music 80s
#2 dance pop 2000s etc.

Since there are no folders, we now have playlists labeled with a hashtag and a number. Each number with a hashtag represents a folder. When we want to see specific playlists, we enter the hashtag and number in the search engine. Then all playlists labeled that way will be shown. The disadvantage is that you need to remember which hashtag and number represent a specific folder.

Just adding my voice here, in case it helps the case. I cannot imagine a music library without folders. I am starting the migration process from Spotify, am ready for a lot of feature regressions in the name of my ethical preferences, but folders are the one thing I need in addition to the play button. Deezer was to be the ideal choice on every aspect, but this is a deal-breaker, very unfortunately.

Please Deezer, implement this. I don’t have overall stats, but just around me I can tell you are missing quite a lot of new customers, leaving Spotify and wanting to keep their 10 years of playlists tidy.

(FYI, Tidal doesn’t have nested folders, which I could live without, but would prefer having)

Another new Deezer subscriber here after leaving Spotify, echoing the need for folders. I’m trialling both Deezer and Apple Music over the next few months to decide which one serves my needs best, and Deezer not having this option is a huge consideration for me.

“My Deezer Year” has more priority than essential features.

It can’t be that difficult to add labels (or folders) to albums, playlists and artists, right?

I tried to make a small webapp to do it myself via the API, but their API isn’t working very well. You can’t create an access key or oAuth app.

Another new subscriber that's just switched from Spotify to Deezer, and honestly I’m struggling to understand why there are no folders for playlists?

I currently have over 150 playlists, grouped by genre, mood, and purpose. Without folders, my library becomes a long, flat, unmanageable list. Scrolling through 150+ playlists to find the right one is not a good user experience.

Many serious music listeners depend on having a functional sorting system. Deezer so far seems great in many ways, but without folders or tags for playlists it feels like it’s missing a basic organizational tool for anyone with a large library.

Please consider adding playlist folders or tags and the ability to group playlists by theme or category. 

This single feature would massively improve Deezer for power users and for anyone migrating from Spotify.

...Also a prior Spotify user with many playlists. I need to review and reduce but a folder function is really just incredibly usefull.

[feeling old] Similar topic: I used itunes back in the day. Owned the music, kept a large library, I’d love to be able to view my entire music library (all songs I have liked) and among all playlists, viewable with simple sorting options (songs, artists (alphabetized), albums) .

I just switched my family account from Spotify to Deezer because of Spotify’s ignorance of families’ needs. Anyway … i really miss the folder function. Please add it to deezer. 

I’m looking for an alternative to Spotify and I might have to go to Tidal JUST for the folder function. I have 426 playlists as of today and it’s absolute chaos in there!!!!!! GET FOLDERS PLEASE DEEZER I WANT TO STAY HERE I need to organize!!!! 😭

I’d also appreciate folders! I have a lot of playlists and it’s kind of hard browsing through all of them, I feel like it wouldn’t be a difficult additin either.

I’ve also moved from Spotify to Deezer so if the community is listened to it would definitely make me stay <33

Echoing everyone above. I ditched Spotify a while ago for ethical reasons and went to Tidal, which I was really happy with until it started glitching on me constantly. (Playback would freeze and not restart, and it wasn’t an internet connectivity issue.) I moved to Deezer a couple of months ago and I’ve been relatively happy with it, particularly the discovery of new artists (though it does get repetitive if I don’t feed it new artists every couple of weeks). The lack of folders for playlists and albums is becoming an absolute deal-breaker for me, though. I really don’t want to leave but it’s incredibly frustrating that this basic feature hasn’t been implemented after so much user feedback.
