On Android, I regularly get my search bar replaced by a link of the form "check out artist ...". The only way get the search bar back is to click on the link and then go back.

This feature is obviously designed to annoy. I don't understand why it is unleashed on paying customers.

Hey there @ColonelHathi

We push some content in the app for our users,

but you should be able to close the recommendation, can you not?

Which Android and app version are you using?

Android 8.1.0

App version 7.0.0.96

By “able to close” you mean there’s a little x next to it? No, there isn’t, you have to click on it, wait for the recommended artist/album to load and go back, in order to remove it.

It’s also not a push notification. It’s a banner in the app where your search bar would be, so that, if you ignore it, you can’t search anymore.

If it’s not clear what I mean, I’ll make a screenshot next time it happens.

Hey @ColonelHathi

Yes I understand now what you mean.

We know it’s not the best way to push a notification, and we are working on adding the “little x”.

Sorry about this!

Good to hear, that would be an improvement. It would be even better to be able to opt out of any kind of notification. Anyway, thanks for your reply.
