Despite I enter the search term exactly, the results are inaccurate and very often the desired result is shown down in the list…

Latest example: search for  “Andrew Odd”. There is an atrist with this name. The serarch result show all kind of Andrew-named artists, like Andrew Gold, Andre Ward, Andrew Bond, etc., only the 10th in the list is Andrew Odd.

The same gos for track, except, here randomness is much higher, the track I’m looking for is much down in the list.

Please correct the search engine, so that the exact matches must have the highest ranking and must be placed in the very beginning of the search result list.

Hey @icefront

Sorry about it, but when you would like the exactly word search, you need to put it between “Quotation marks” and it should come up first, as you can see above:

Any questions, please let me know. =)

@Johnathan Finotti It is still a problem:

For example this album:

So when I search Depeche Mode it is normal to only see every artist / song called "Delpeche" and NO mention of Depeche Mode ... 🙄

Not the user friendliest approach. Neither is the explanation that the user must use quotation marks ...

Ballrooms of Mars
Runaway Baby

I frequently have trouble with this too, and putting a search term in quotation marks makes no difference.

If I search for the track Velocirapture, I have to scroll past 50+ incorrect results for Velociraptor -- some of which are album titles, not track titles -- before finally finding a version of the song by the artist I’m after… and it’s a live version. No other versions by the original artist show up in the search results. To find the single version, I have to search for the artist first, go to their profile, then find the song there. Which is ridiculous.

When I search for Velocirapture and filter by Tracks, the FIRST results should be... (dramatic drum roll)... Velocirapture. All versions of it. Before a single Velociraptor shows up.

Is it because part of the song title is in parentheses? Should I be searching for: Velocirapture (The Serpent Flew)? If so, why?

I really don’t understand why or how the search is this useless :(
