I have a Sonos One that I generally control using Alexa. I have no issues with actually getting Deezer working using this setup; my issue is that playback initiated from Alexa is not reflected in the Deezer iOS app.

For example, if I request that Alexa “Play my flow on Deezer,” the fact that I have initiated a session is not reflected on the Deezer app--whatever I was playing from a previous session initiated from my iPhone would be all that I could see. If I wanted to see what music was playing without having to ask Alexa, I have to open up the Sonos iOS app. If I wanted to add a song to my favorites, or dislike the song or the artist, my only recourse is to use voice commands via Alexa. This is all a bit cumbersome--part of the appeal of Deezer for me is the Flow feature and the ability to fine tune it with a fair bit of granularity, and not being able to do that without shouting at Alexa is not ideal.

Confusingly, things work a bit better going the other way--if I initiate a session on my phone and playback on the speaker via Airplay, some limited control with Alexa is possible (pause, skip, etc.)

Is there any way to enable this currently?

My question would be, why are you using Alexa at all? Why not cut out the middle(wo)man?

Doesn’t your Sonos One have Sonos Voice Control?

Sonos Voice Control just isn’t as good as Alexa is--it’s fine for initiating playback on Deezer, but struggles when asked to play a local radio station that Alexa has no problem with.

More fundamentally, it doesn’t solve the problem. Deezer playback initiated via Sonos Voice Control is still not reflected in the Deezer iOS app. In that respect it’s no different than Alexa.

Interesting, as everything I play on my Sonos system, whether through the app or via Sonos Voice Control, shows up in my recently played.

And my personal experiences have differed drastically with the quality of the integration. Alexa continually makes errors when trying to play playlists or artists, she mishears or simply can't make the connection.

And there are a number of playlists that won't link successfully through Alexa, even if I create an Alexa routine where the playlist is specified with text.

I have no such problems playing through the Sonos app or using Sonos Voice Control. I used to be a strong advocate for Alexa and Echo devices, for years, but they have all been boxed up and I use Sonos exclusively now. The experience is like night and day.

I appreciate that we all have our own preferences though; best of luck to you.
