Notifications from artists I did not like?

The option to turn the algorithm off is not available on the Deezer app.
Nevertheless, you can turn your information in as an idea here on the Community and wait if your suggestion gets votes on it.

So, the only way to get notifications back to normal is to make an official suggestion? That sounds backwards and unnecessarily complicated...

Still facing this behavior of having non-liked artists in release notifications, it's frustrating.

I’m having the same experience. Here are my last 7 notifications. Not a single one of these artists is in my favorited artists. Worse yet, I did not get a notification when my favorite and most listened to artist released a new album in August.

The notifications in my Deezer account are working like it has to work. Except sometimes I do miss a lot of artists that have new releases.

So...no I don’t have wrong artists, but I do miss a release now and then.

I know that you were doing some tests to improve the algorithm, but it seems that nothing has changed. When I have one liked song (listened once or twice) from the artist I didn’t add to favourites it would still bring up their releases in my notifications.

I used to be excited when there was a new notification, because it meant an artist that I actually care about released something new. It used to be reliable.

Nowadays I’m ready to roll my eyes when I see a new notification. As 95% of them are now unwanted spam. Most of the time I immediately close the notifications without listening to anything.

And EVEN WORSE than all the spam, I don’t even get notified about new releases from artists THAT I FAVOURITED. I checked my favourited artists and found several with new releases that I had no idea existed.

Just… what is the point?

I am so annoyed by this, that I created a forum account just for this.

I created an “idea”, please all upvote this, so they will probably change this.

Hi, I don’t like having to add my voice to this, but I also have been very annoyed by this behaviour to the point of me feeling the need to seek the forum. The notifications feel like spam with most of them from artists that I am not interested in. But not receiving notifications from artists that I have consciously decided to “like” on the app feels almost like a provocation. This seems like a very low-hanging fruit to me. If you decide to add notifications from not-liked artists, at least show all our favourite artists’ notifications. By far the best solution would be: please give us two toggle-options in the settings to 1: show only options from liked artists Y/N and 2: show all notifications from liked artists Y/N. If this was a free service, I wouldn’t have such a strong opinion but paying for this makes it feel very sub-par.

I do love Deezer, so I apologise for my choice of words above and thanks as always for the service

2 years later and there’s still no way to be notified about new music you like without subscribing to spam

Honestly at this point I’d rather just be able to turn it off entirely. I have every single notification turned off and I still see 20 notifications every time I open the app, none of them I care about.
