Notifications from artists I did not like?

Hey, that doesn’t make sense, considering nothing on the site has explained that favouriting artists doesn’t follow them like any other website. Letalone needing to go out of the way to go to a “new releases” playlist (which sounds like new releases across the site, not specifically for my favourites).

Can I be removed from this test? I just want notifications from ONLY the artists I’ve favourited, and from all of them, like before.

Same problem, I’ve just got notifications from the bands that are not in my favorites. Why? How to disable it? It seems like a joke, because I don’t get notifications from the bands I’ve actually liked and added to my favs.(I described it to support in other topics from year to year with no result)

I have also been experiencing this and I really hate being spammed with artists that I don't want to get notifications from. I listen to everything, but I don't want to get notifications from main stream/popular artists, so I choose to selectively get notifications from more niche genres or not as well known artists.

With this new algorithm, there is no customisation, and I don't want to have to go through the "new releases section" to find out whether an artist that I have liked has released a new song - it is not efficient (for me anyway). At least give us an option to either have the app give notifications of the artists you have liked/subscribed to, or a version with the algorithm which gives you a mix of your music tastes similar to flow (I'm assuming).

Ultimately, I may as well turn my notifications off because the artists I do want to hear from get drowned in the noise (no pun intended) of the other releases (if they're even being sent via notifications) and I'm getting irritated by the other notifications I am receiving because I don't want them. If I wanted to discover new music, I would use flow mixes.

Obviously this is just my specific take on the situation and everyone has used the notifications in different ways, but I wanted to give a different perspective on how notifications (in the previous version) have been really useful for me. I really hope you can make it an optional notification. 

oh sh*t… I’ve just get notification from Lana Del Ray, which I obviously didn’t add to my favorites. what the purpose of notifications that recommend me artists which I even didn’t subscribe? seems like I paid more than 100 euro per year just to see forced&promoted music /: I hope to see the answer of the community manager what all this about.

Yeah this is why we are asking for it to be an optional notification, @Yula is this something that can be implemented? Would like an update please

Why am I still getting these stupid “not in my favourite artists” notifications? This latest one really annoys me because it’s not even close to my preferences.

Yes, we’ve noticed. The first 2 points we are taking issue with and want to turn off so we have normal notifications again.

Yes, but the second point is a huge problem. I liked a single song by BTS and I get notifs for all of their releases despite me not listening to them. And what’s worse is the third point is not 100% consistent. I want to know whenever some of my favorite smaller groups release new music, but I recently found out that a group I had favorited released a new album a week ago and I had no idea.

I think you can disable notifs by hitting “Don’t recommend this artist” but I don’t want to block a bunch of artists with a few songs I like just because I keep seeing their notifs.

I really think we should just be notified whenever an artist we favorited releases new music 100% of the time and not be notified when any artist we haven’t favorited does. This algorithm seems to overcomplicate a simple solution.
