I have a NAD C658 streaming DAC running the latest BluOS.

While I can use the Deezer plugin within the BluOS application it is nowhere near as nice as the actual Deezer application.

It would be ideal if one of two things were to happen:

A. The Deezer application on my Laptop (mac) or other devices (IOS, Android, Etc) could send the audio stream directly to the NAD (Not using Airplay or Bluetooth). Spotify can do this; it ensures the user has the same interface experience regardless of the endpoint in use (phone, laptop, Hifi, smart speaker, etc). Currently I am stuck using the crippled NAD Deezer application.

B. Deezer becomes compatible with Roon. This, again, would be far superior to the BluOS integration currently available and again, create a single user interface across multiple platforms.
Hi there @dalemurray

Thank you for your input and feedback. We'd like to increase our compatibility across devices, but this is a development which will take a bit more time. Have a look at this idea and show your support. For Roon, check this topic out šŸ‘šŸ¼
I have commented on both threads, the Roon one several days ago.

Sadly, I will likely stick with Tidal as Roon solves all my issues. I would much rather stay with Deezer but refuse to jump through hoops - use bluetooth or airplay - to listen to music. At least with Spotify I could start listening to something while using my laptop then continue listening after I turned it off. I could them open the app on any number of devices to stop or modify what I was playing.
Hey @dalemurray

I've seen your comments. Thank you for your honest feedback. We're already working on that kind of feature. We've enabled our queue list to be cloud based, and we're developing a way to be able to control music through the app, from another device. Stay tuned if you can šŸ‘šŸ¼
I have already cancelled my account.

Shoot me an email when that happens; when I can send a signal to my NAD without my phone/tablet/laptop being an intermediary device in the audio path and I will check it out.
Thanks @dalemurray šŸ‘šŸ¼

Hi,

Ā

I also have a NAD C658 and feel that the references to the ā€˜full Deezer supportā€™ are slightly misleading given the limitation on Deezerā€™s part here. Your competition are ahead of you on this topic and there is clear demand for your customers to use the Deezer app in order to stream directly to these devices.

Ā

It has been three months since Dale raised the issue, do you have a confirmed timeline to deliver against the request at this stage?Ā

Ā

Many thanks
Herriot

Hi there @HerriotcubeĀ

Thank you for your honest feedback. We're working on a new device discovery experience and integration - and we're expecting to have more updates about this before the end of the yearĀ 👍🏼

Many thanks Rudi, looking forward to seeing this before the end of the year!

Hi Rudi,

Happy New Year! How are we looking on this feature that you said you would be updating before the end of 2019? I donā€™t see it on Deezer yet, seems like your new device discovery & integration experience isnā€™t there yet? Any updates that you can share as promised?

Many thanks
Herriot

Hi there HerriotĀ @HerriotcubeĀ

Thanks for coming back. Happy New Year!

Our team has updated us to say they aren't finished yet. We've introduced some of the mechanisms to the apps (for device discovery and the new Cast integration) but there's more development to do. Now we're waiting to hear more news from them, but I believe we're going in the right direction. I'll be letting you knowĀ :thumbsup_tone2:

Many thanks for your (albeit open ended) response Rudi and I am pleased to hear that this is progressing.

Ā

One proposed timeline now missed, are you able to suggest a timeframe for this feature to be introduced to your product? I am just asking if this something that is likely to be completed within a month or two or if you think it is a 6 month wait or potentially longer?

Ā

As I say, the ā€˜Deezer integrationā€™ messaging is completely misleading, I (& others) want to use the app that we areĀ paying for and weĀ canā€™t and so clarity on a dependable timeline at this stage would be very helpful.

Many thanks again
HerriotĀ

Hi thereĀ @HerriotcubeĀ

Thank you for your feedback. Although it's everyone's intention, we're unable to provide a timeline for the release of this feature because, in tech, things move very quickly in terms of priority. Only when we're finalising a development that things can get a bit easier - but I don't think we'll reach the 6 months mark. I've passed your feedback to the relevant teams here at Deezer. It's much appreciatedĀ :relaxed:

Hi Rudi,

Thanks for your message, the only thing that is moving fast is your competition and suggesting that this is normal ā€˜in techā€™ isnā€™t accurate at all.Ā You stated that you were working on this feature 6 months ago and so now, suggesting another 6 months after previously stating thatĀ this feature would be delivered last year is a really, really poor customer experience.

Youā€™re asking for feedback in this community, now weā€™re asking for a timeline and so it would be great if we could get a committed timeline here.Ā Ā

Regards

Herriot

I agree about the timeline @Herriotcube. We're waiting for this as well. Once we've got more info about the development of the feature, we'll try to give more details here (we know how important this feature is). Our new cast integration is actually being developed for over 9 months now. Thank you for your support and understandingĀ :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks Rudi, we all appreciate the follow up!

Cheers

Herriot

Hi Rudi,

Circling back on this topic 4 months later to ask if there is any line of sight on when this feature might be delivered on the product roadmap?

Ā

Many thanks in advance
Kind regards
Herriot

Not specifically, no @HerriotcubeĀ - thanks for reaching out, always nice chatting to you.

Have a look at the recent event we've had in the French community, covered by @Leila.Ā in this article hereĀ :thumbsup_tone2:

This post of hope has been here for one year now.

Is there any concrete development to date regarding "Deezer connect" functionality?

Thanks,Ā

ƁlvaroĀ

Hey Ɓlvaro, @aoliverĀ

Thanks for the honest feedback. Please check this out, we're working hard on the project:

Ā

Hi,

Iā€™ve followed this topic for a while now and expect to make a decision soon as to whether I stay with Deezer or not over this whole issue.

In January this year I purchased an NAD M33 - itā€™s a fantastic piece of kit with amazing power, sound and features. Unfortunately with the BluOS system that NAD uses I cannot stream direct to the NAD as I can with Spotify or Tidal. I can only connect to Deezer via the ā€˜Music Servicesā€™ tab in BluOS which merely gives me a logged on, ā€˜cut downā€™ functionality version of the full Deezer app. I cannot sort or order tracks, albums or artists at all via this method - and it is sloooowwwww to do anything.

I am evaluating a free Qobuz offer but they also do not support a direct feature, and even though their sound quality is excellent, they just do not have the range of tracks and albums that Deezer has.

I have tried Tidal and do not like the sound or the cost even though they have Tidal connect in BluOS.

So, with Spotify announcing that they will release a Hi Fi tier before the end of the year I am waiting to see what this sounds like and costs me before probably making the jump over to their system. Spotify connect on BluOS is simple, elegant and FAST (and while far from perfect it even sounds pretty ok with their current lossy stream)

I must say that Deezer seems to offer the best financial return for artists which is important for me - I like to know that artistā€™s are getting supported as best they can and will feel bad about this if I have to move over to Spotify later this year, but I simply cannot afford to have more than one streaming service for music. Itā€™s a balance of cost, sound quality, features and ethics - a hard one to meet sometimes.

I note your continued reference to the new-ish IOS remote feature as a testing ground for future expansion to other operating systems. Great, I support and applaud that movement, but as I use only Android, BluOS and Windows it matters little to my decisions. I love Deezer and use it always in the car via my Android phone - fantastic!

Thanks

FW

Thanks for the great feedback @FluffywalrusĀ and I would love to be able to offer what you are looking for straight away but thatā€™s beyond what I can do as a CM.
We recently open the possibility to test our remote control function to all iOS users (Not only beta) and the next step is to expand that. However I donā€™t have an ETA for that.
Iā€™ll pass the feedback to our developers and keep pushing for this idea with them.Ā :nerd:

Iā€™m with al the others here: wouldĀ reallyĀ appreciate proper integration of Deezer and BluOS after al these years. At least being able to see myĀ favourite albums sorted by artist would help a lot in my search/listen experience. The current solution is chaotic.

Yours, Wouter

Hello!

Would be nice to have a proper BluOS support on Deezer. The BluOS Controller is nice but not as functional as the Deezer app.Ā

Iā€™m very close to go to Spotify instead...

ā€¦..

Iā€™m very close to go to Spotify instead...

Well, since I last posted 1 year ago Iā€™ve ditched Deezer and gone back to Tidal - even though I donā€™t like the structure, the sound or recommendations they offer. Why? ...simply because Tidal Connect WORKS! (and silly Spotify never did implement their promised Hi-Fi tier I was hoping for, so they wonā€™t get my money until they do so).

On BluOS Tidalā€™s instantaneous, seamless and accessible. I can use it to hunt for and listen to new music that I then purchase via download or CD - simples.

A shame - I really liked Deezer.

Please update your interface on BluOS

At least give us basic listing options like date (older/newer fist), and alphabetic order.Ā

Also deezer on blueos refuses to show and play some songs on bluos as well.Ā

At least make deezer connect possible on bluos. .Ā
