Is Deezer app optimised for macOS on M1 (silicon) chip? Has relatively high CPU usage.

Good day, apple silicon is out quite long and the app has issues on said macs. Please consider making it run under silicon natively.

Any update regarding apple silicon port?

As far as I know, there is no plan for a Mac version of the desktop app adapted to an M processor in the near future. 😑

Incidentally, I also have an M-Mac and would be happy about an optimized desktop app.

Just a consideration: With the M-processor on the Mac, it is possible to use iPad versions. However, the developer must explicitly allow it. 🤓

Just upgraded to version 6.0.10 (fully rebranded Deezer Desktop), and I find it quite outrageous that it is still not a Universal or arm64 binary.

Yes @Mikauto11 I saw it toо this morning, and expected to be optimized for Mac M series, but no, its still Intel. And Spotify works extremely well on M series, fast and very optimized.

Multiple months later, but for the discussion about performance not likely to improve, these are false statements. Performance using Electron will very much improve after Deezer has changed a single configuration line in their package.json file, namely to change the arch value from “x64” to “universal”. It won’t be as good as a native app, but it will at least be decent.

Deezer is among the very last Electron app to not have made the switch.

• Deezer (why?)
• Moodle Desktop (Abandoned, uses Moodle Mobile instead)
• Unity Hub (Unity itself is Apple Silicon ready)
• Neo4j Desktop (the Neo4j Browser is Apple Silicon ready)
• PIA (their latest update was released before Apple Silicon, and the upcoming release will be compatible)
• GravitDesigner (abandoned)
• DS Update (I guess car manufacturers are not experts with software)

and that’s it. Really, Deezer should not be on that bottom list anymore! 

It is now 2024 and yet there is still no Apple Silicon (aka ARM) support in the Deezer Desktop app for macOS.

Beyond disappointing for many.

Please sort out the Desktop app or at least allow the Deezer iPadOS variant to be used under macOS.
