Favoriting multiple tracks is slow and annoying

I have some issues with how the process for favoriting a song is handled. First of all, it takes at least a good second for the heart to fill, probably because it doesn’t actually happen until the server confirms the change. Second, EVERY song I favorite triggers a notification on windows and a toast on android which is INCREDIBLY annoying! That is something I could imagine implementing for testing purposes, but in reality, when I go through an album to favorite the songs I like it is kind of awful to use. I mainly play music from my favorite tracks, and since songs in favorite tracks also have a huge effect on auto generated playlists and flow I really want to use it.

Is there a way to flip this? To at least only get the notification / toast when something goes wrong? Surely the default should be that it works and you shouldn’t have to tell me that every time?

Hi @Recycle !

Favoriting multiple tracks on Deezer feels slow because each "like" requires a server confirmation and often triggers an notification (toast/pop-up) on your device, interrupting the flow, especially when adding many songs from an album . This delay is due to server communication and excessive notifications, impacting performance when adding batches of music.

Why it's slow:

Server-Side Confirmation: The app has to send a request to Deezer's servers for each song to confirm the addition to your favorites, which takes a second or so.

Excessive Notifications: Each successful favorite action often triggers a notification (like a Windows toast or Android pop-up), creating a disruptive and tedious experience when adding many songs.

App/Device Performance: General app performance, data/cache issues, or even your internet connection can add to the lag.

How to potentially improve it (or work around it):

Clear Cache: Clearing your Deezer app's cache can sometimes resolve performance issues, though this may delete downloads.

Update App/OS: Ensure you have the latest version of the Deezer app and your phone's operating system.

Reset/Reinstall: A full app reset or reinstallation can fix underlying glitches.

Disable Notifications (if possible): Reducing notifications might make the process less annoying, even if the server delay remains.

Hi,

Not sure if this is just an AI response? It mostly seems to restate my problem?

I get that the server request has to be sent, but if you look at how that is implemented normally then it would be more like the heart is filled when you press it and if the request fails then it is reset. The way it works now is jarring since it makes you think it didn’t work at all, so I keep double pressing and unliking the song again.

It is not a cache issue. It happens on all devices, and I just asked if I can disable the toast/notification?
