exclude from taste profile

​@shn.renee I had Spotify for years and it never worked there. They don’t even claim it works. They specifically say “Listening to this playlist will have less impact on your taste profile and recommendations.”

I found that listening to sleep music on Spoify even using their function meant that it was in my daily recs, playlists, and rendered the DJ utterly useless, because most of what he recommended was sleep music.

I know I’m not alone, it’s a frequent complaint on the various Spotify subs on reddit.

One of the things I miss about Spotify after switching was the wrapped. I'm enjoying Deezer but not being able to exclude certain playlists like sleep or work music really messes up the monthly and yearly recaps and renders them sadly useless 😅 having the option to set a private listening session time or to exclude a playlist would be a much needed feature 

​@GropplerZorn spotify has an « exlude this playlist from my taste profile » button that really works, never had sleepy tracks in any of my recommandations or wraps 

​@Strawberry rush I just commented on that, two comments above. No, it doesn’t work, Spotify doesn’t even claim it excludes the music. Here is a sample page from my 2025 Wrapped. All sleep music, all “excluded” from my taste profile.

​@GropplerZorn Pretty sad it doesn’t work for you, looks like you’re maybe not using it properly as it seems to work well for the rest of the people who commented here and want to have the same option on Deezer.

​@GropplerZorn I had the same issue for a while that would come and go since I had a background jazz playlist that I wanted to exclude. As it turns out, logging out and logging back in twice fixed the problem, at least for a little bit until jazz would start creeping back into my discover weeklies and I would have to repeat the process. Now I'm on deezer though and there's no option at all. I don't understand why Deezer doesn't do more to make their platform have all the same features as Spotify, as clearly that's the only thing that keeps people on that app

​@Figmentation been back on Deezer since October but can’t delete Spotify as I still have to use it for many things because of this, with all the ads because my premium is on Deezer now which is particularly frustrating. Gropplerzorn hasn’t used Spotify in a while so he doesn’t really now what we’re talking about. Hopefully somebody else can read us and do something about it 

Until I can remove my kids songs and bedtime lullabies the recaps and Monthly listen is absolutely useless and something I don't spend a second looking at as it's pointless. 

I’m currently trying out Deezer as an alternative to Spotify. Not being able to exclude my background music playlists from influencing my recommendations is a total deal breaker.
