I used the Tidal HIFI service for a month, and the truth is that deezer leaves a lot to be desired, I'm fine with the hifi sound, but tidal offers albums with dolby atmos sound, and the audio is wonderful compared to a deezer hifi album . I would like deezer to start implementing dolby atmos sound, because it's something from another world
Hey
My personal opinion: That won't happen in the near future. Until recently, deezer cooperated with Sony and had its own app for 360° sound.
opinions vary on this, and drastically.
dolby atmos is a technique designed to “locate” or “place” sounds, and shines in its intended element, in the cinema.
in music applications, especially home and automobile use where the speaker placement and numbers severely limit its intended execution, dolby atmos is hit and miss at its best, and utterly terrible at its worst.
other “techniques” attempted to improve on stereo, but also tried and failed, notably quadraphonic stereo in 1971. i see dolby atmos going the same way. deezer has chosen wisely here.
stereo is king. long live the king!
long live the king!
King Zorn of House Targaryen, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm!
Total no-brainer. Sound is from another world. Just use earphones, if your home entertainment equipment does not feature enough speakers. All the other streaming services have started supporting Dolby Atmos. And they are able to charge a premium.
Now Sonos and their Era 300 is out..... this is essential..... up vote!
I‘m a real stereo music fan. And… Atmos music isn’t an alternative. But it‘s a different chance on top to enjoy music also in another way. For me there are some really nice tracks like for example Trustfall from P!nk.
On Sonos using an Era300 or my 5.1 surround setup sometimes i like comparing stereo and Atmos version.
Dolby Atmos doesn't cut it. I tested it with bose soundbar compatible with formatt. Everyone picked deezer hifi over it. It sounds good for a movie… but it makes music tunnel sounding to me….
I dont think Dolby Atmos on a soundbar, earphones or anything less than a 5.1.4 system makes much sense. It might even degrade the experience. BUT, on a fully capable atmos system with a well produced track, it could provide a very different experience.
Dolby Atmos is designed for spatial audio, creating a three-dimensional sound experience by placing sounds in a 360-degree space around the listener. In contrast, Hi-res audio is aimed at providing high-quality stereo sound.
Both formats serve different purposes but are essential in their respective domains for enhancing audio experiences. I want the option of experiencing Atmos music.
