Hi,

If I go to an artists discography page, I see only a few albums, but if I go to their top tracks, there are songs from different albums that are not shown on the discography page. I am not sure how to see the whole collection...

Hi @Thubakabra !

Albums may appear on Deezer but not in an artist's main discography due to metadata errors, licensing/territory issues, or algorithmic sorting that prioritizes popular releases over older/obscure ones.

These, often called "hidden" albums, can usually be found by searching directly for the album title, as they are still in the catalog.

Incorrect tagging by labels or distributors can lead to releases being detached from the main artist profile.
Deezer’s app often displays "Most Popular" or recent releases first, hiding older albums in a "view all" or "more albums" section.
Rights holders may restrict certain albums to specific countries, making them invisible or unplayable in other regions.
If an artist has changed labels, older, licensed content may not appear in the main discography managed by their current label.

Hi,

I can play the album itself, once I found it. But I want to browse the selection. If I don’t know that an artist has a particular album, then how I will I find it??

Uriah Heep shows this, no ‘view all” or “more albums”.

But I can see another album:

Nothing in featured in or live albums, nor compilations.
I can play it, so this is not a license problem.

@Thubakabra

Just type the artist's name into the search engine and select the ALBUMS option from the list - then the albums will appear.

If you want to check the all discography of a musician, you can look it up on Wikipedia

Thanks for your answer!

So, I am on the page of the artist, that offers me the albums. But in order to see the actual albums, I have to retype the artist name in the search bar.

I would not call this a good ergonomy.

But I appreciate your time answering me!

i just want to agree with the OP. i have the same complaint. my constructive feedback is to please please make the full discography appear chronologically by default. Make it accessable easily, meaning whether searched for in the search bar using the artist’s name or directly on the artist’s page if I am already on it. If you want me to use Deezer to play music then I need to be able to see someone’s catalogue easily. It makes no sense at all to go to a different website to search for their discography.
the issue of licensing is seperate from decisions about the layout design. I understand that is not something that can be changed by Deezer, However to completely abandon the idea that a chronological discography is important to listeners and fans is counterproductive. You could also simply add a disclaimer to the bottom of each discography page that states, as a heads up, that some music may not be shown on Deezer due to licensing matters.

Generally speaking, I as a listener do not want music selections and layouts to cater to what the algorhithm GUESSES I want to see. i want to see what has actually been released by that artist and when. Because I am trying to see new music and learn something not just go round and round in my existing bubble of stuff. this should be prioritised in streaming services, in my opinion.

thanks for reading.
