Song/Artist/Album isn't on Deezer - What happens if I can't find the music I want?

DEEZER CATALOGUE - something is missing :mag_right:

We're really sorry to know the tracks you love isn't on Deezer. Not all artists and rights' holders choose to add their music on our platform. We always respect their wishes so some music isn't available or might be temporarily removed. 

Some of the reasons for this are: 

RIGHTS' HOLDERS :microphone:

If an artist has a large discography with different rights' holders controlling different albums you can sometimes find gaps in the catalogue - if a certain rights' holder hasn't yet agreed to allow the music they control to be streamed online.

TERRITORY :globe_with_meridians:

Streaming rights are also defined by territory - country, region, location. The tracks that appear in the search box when you're looking for music are the songs that are available in all territories. In a small number of cases, a user in a different country may not have access to different tracks so an "unavailable in your country" message appears when they try to listen to it. 

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO? :weary:

We're constantly updating and re-negotiating our agreements with rights' holders and thousands of tracks are added to our catalogue every single week.

You can try a couple of things:

  • Add your MP3 collection to Deezer :calling:
  • Contact the artist via their social media channels and request for the tracks/albums to be added to Deezer, we take care of the rest :nerd:

    Can you check why there are albums and songs on some discographies that simply have their cover art removed? An example I can give is French 79 (an artist with +50k fans) that has his most popular songs and albums (like album Joshua) with that default null cover art. At some point the cover art for these songs and albums were there, so something must have happened.

    Thanks! When I talk about the cover art being “defaulted”, it also means that the cover art of the playlist, that takes the first 4 songs and combine them together, sticks with the null cover too, like the example of the screenshot below for my Synthwave playlist:

     

    This 4th song is Hometown (intro) by French 79 btw, that for some reason has the correct cover art displaying on the actual song on the playlist on mobile, but not on the desktop, that seems to override and make the playlist cover art incorrect on both versions. This is how it is displayed on desktop:

    Also, there is also the case when a song itself has the correct cover art on both desktop/mobile, but for some reason the cover art of the playlist, that should take the 4 first songs covers, is incorrect.

    Its not a local cache problem btw, because I have erased the data and logged again on the account and this disparities are still present

      I’ve contacted Sony and Charly Music about getting missing albums by Big Brother And The Holding Company and The Yardbirds onto Deezer

      I joined Deezer from Spotify a few weeks ago. There have been so many albums greyed out and unplayable or albums that are playable with 1 or more unavailable songs. What's the deal? I like the higher quality, but there are so many things I like I can't listen to.

       

      My most recent example, since I can't remember everything is the American Analog Set. Can't listen to Promise of Love or Know by Heart. If this is a bug or something great, if not, I might need to try somewhere else

      Both of those albums are available here in the UK, maybe on a different label here
