Deezer version 8.0.0.78

Do not reply with “update Deezer”, “clear your cache”, etc. I will take replies of this nature as evidence that you did not read this at all. Your app is broken and cuts off my music randomly. I believe something related to AndroidWebView is causing this. Something is clearly very wrong with a core dependency of Deezer. I like your app, but I’m veering towards cancelling my premium subscription based on this issue persisting for months.

I do not understand what value your “ Runaway Baby” tag from your community manager adds? So complaining about a paid-for service not working means I’m a child? It works just fine on Desktop, why can’t this match mobile?

  • You buy a CD in 2003, put it in a reader, it skips. Get a replacement, problem solved.
  • You pay for Deezer in 2023, it skips. Deal with it, customer?

Hi @acruzmn, sorry to hear that Deezer app is crashing on your phone.

I have an Android 13, Samsung M53 and I can’t reproduce the same issues you have.

But indeed there are some user World Wide that experience the same case.

And you might be right regarding the WebView. Before I escalate this to our developers, please do the following procedure:

  • Open your phone settings > Applications > Deezer
  • Select Battery (you may need to tap on Advanced Settings to find it) > Unrestricted
  • Open Deezer, then test a playlist

If the issue persists, please confirm if you have an SD card installed and send a screenshot of Data and Storage from Deezer app.

Also, if you could record a video showing the steps to reproduce issue, I can added it later in the incident that I will open.

@Leonídia.Deezer, thank you for replying. My app has been on unrestricted battery settings for months now, that seems not to do anything. I had this crash happen again moments ago, it is recurrent and takes place every few songs. It seems to do it more often on lengthier songs.

When the app crashes, it does not show a prompt where the app has stopped responding, it just disappears. So I also cannot report the issue from the App as the crash happens even if I tried. Is there a way to access logs kept by the app to share these here? Otherwise, this is completely impossible to document and for your engineers to even look at.
