Abnormally high wifi data usage (900gb in 2 days)

Hi folks,

Following recent update to version 9.0.1.3 I noticed my battery life was getting hammered whilst my phone was idle.  I checked and it was Deezer using the battery despite only 1 minute active screen time.

Then I checked data use - since the update a few days ago Deezer has used 861gb of background data. Clearly something very wrong here. Nearly 40gb of foreground data too. Downloaded tracks and smart cache total about 70gb.

Over tge last few months data usage has been around 10-20gb per month. 

I've switched off data and force stopped the app.  I'll be uninstalling next if there isn't a resolution or reason for this. 

What is going on? Does anyone have any ideas? Anyone with similar issies with this version?

You shouldn’t be seeing the faulty behavior anymore,

Same here, Deezer consumed 90GB in 7 hours, when it never goes higher than 500MB per months. I wonder if it has something to do with the operating system you're using, mine (hyperOS) is relatively known for having issues with data usage measurements.

I'm on Android 16 - no other app is misbehaving - and Deezer has continued to suck battery and hammer bandwidth in the background.

I'm going to uninstall and re-install to see if that does anything.

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't change anything for me; Deezer still uses just as much mobile data. I tried blocking the app's internet access, but it continues to drain my internet connection, to the point where my mobile operator has excluded me from their relay antennas.
