Lyrics feature - We need your feedback!

If you are going to implement community lyrics editing feature, think about how to support the right ones, because while musixmatch is taking lyrics from community, their solution is flawed:

Lyrics are getting written by people, then verified by “moderators” who are also people but with a lot of karma-like points. The problem is that lyrics are getting locked after their review, so if lyrics are wrong you can left a feedback about wrong lyrics, but not correct them right away. Basically, a lot of them moderators are karmafarmers, who don’t even look at the lyrics anymore. Last year I was complaining about X by Welshly Arms. I did it twice, but the lyrics are still wrong. Lyrics on Genius were corrected, thanks to IzaFfiew, who noticed our comments, but not on musixmatch.

So maybe lock them by people who surely can be trusted (your music moderators idk) or don’t lock them at all

Maybe give points not to users, but to lines. Like everyone can (almost)anonymously “fix” a thing in a certain line (text or time code) and the others are voting for this change or another (like/dislike/redundant), or pick one they like more to sing along. This looks complicated, but idk, maybe there’s something in it.

Seems to work well. But I don’t like that the entire album art is the Lyrics button. Only the Lyrics button should do this. The rest of the album should either flip to album info (release date etc) or go to the album page. 

What about adding Airplay Video and Cast Video to lyrics so you can play them on the TV?

As I say this, I see in one song it is not tracking the lyrics in time with the song. Maybe if that’s a limitation of this song it should add a little note saying this song doesn’t support lyrics synchronisation so it doesn’t look like a bug.

Why do only some songs have animated lyrics?

I like having a lyrics feature and am content with not every song having lyrics but have noticed that way too many lyrics are just wrong – not out of sync but just wrong as if misheard in some places – which can be quite frustrating and quite a let down for me. As a result I am not using the lyrics feature as often as I would like to.

In my experience Genius has the lyrics right more often that the LyricFind who are partnering with Deezer but just found out that Genius are a partner of Spotify so I guess I will have to hope LyricFind step up their game :-(

How about letting users add lyrics to the songs you don’t have time make.
