Hello @teddyboy thanks for your feedback.
Could you please provide and example and share a screenshot in order to reproduce it on our side and check if there is any error?
Thanks
Hi Jaime,
First of all, I apologize for my poor English.
I want to explain the problem through a simple example/experiment.
Let's suppose the following: I am searching a certain album which I forgot the title of (in my hypothesis the album is "Hound Dog" by Big Mama Thornton); I only remember the name of the artist, that is Big Mama Thornton, and the title of one track included in the album, that is "Laugh, Laugh, Laugh".
It should be easy to trace the album: what I have to do is writing "big mama thornton laugh" in the search bar, scroll the list of results and try to remember the name of the album.
Ok, I do it: Deezer shows 5 results (see screenshot 1); I look in the "Album" column, in search of my album.
Let's suppose now that I suddenly remember the name of the album: yes, it is "Hound Dog", but I cannot see it among the albums shown in the column.
Well, there are only two options:
1) I misremember the title of the album, or the album "Hound Dog" has never been, or is no more, available. Ok, let's check it: I write "big mama thornton hound dog" in the search bar, I do not expect to find it. I go to the "Album" section: Deezer shows 36 results, the first of which is "Hound Dog" (see screenshot 2). No doubts, the album "Hound Dog" by Big Mama Thornton exists and is available on Deezer.
2) I got confused, the track "Laugh, Laugh, Laugh" is actually not included in the album "Hound Dog". Ok, let's check it: I open the album "Hound Dog" and find out that the track number 16 is "Laugh, Laugh, Laugh" (see screenshots 3-4). No doubts, the album "Hound Dog" by Big Mama Thornton exists, is available on Deezer and includes the track "Laugh, Laugh, Laugh".
So, why doesn't Deezer show the track "Laugh, Laugh, Laugh" belonging to the album "Hound Dog" in the results, when searching, as i did, "big mama thornton laugh"?
There must be a malfunction, no way.
Is it an isolate mistake? Not at all, I did the same proceeding using different track/album/artist and I often had the same problem. Maybe 50% of times.
Try, for example, "You Always Hurt The One You Love"/"Sixty Four Hours"/Bobby Mitchell; or "All These Things"/"Cry Me A River"/Aaron Neville; I can assure you there are many and many.
I really hope you can fix it asap.
Thanks for your patience, ask me whatever further information you need.
Hi Jaime,
here’s an update.
Compare screenshot 1 attached to my former message and screenshot 5 here attached.
Now, after five days, results of the same search are 4, one less.
But the missing one is still available on Deezer (see screenshots 6-7, track number 21).
That’s really disappointing, can you explain it?
Why does Deezer hide some tracks?
If it won’t be fixed, I’m oriented not to consider Deezer reliable, anymore.
Thank you
Hey @teddyboy I have asked to our developers already and as soon as I hear back from them I’ll let you know.
Thanks for your patience :)
It is now clear that the results shown by the search engine are different day after day.
Searched a title one day and had a certain number of results, did exactly the same search one week later and their number is much different.
Screenshot 20.4: results of my search on 20 april (saved as playlist); they are 29
Screenshot 8.6: results of the same search today, I wrote exactly the same text in the bar; they are 4!! Where are the missing 25?
Unless there’s something I don’t know or understand, it is crazy
Deezer's search function has been like this for a long time. While I can't think of an example right now, if I search for a song and it doesn't come up I consult with Google to see what artist / album the track is on and find it myself.
The search result on Deezer is terrible. Not sure what the company is planning to have a dynamic search.
