How can I get notifications of new releases to actually work?
Yes, I have favorited *lots and lots* of artists and tagged even more albums as favorites (I like many types of music). I have been a premium user since February and received nine notifications from four artists - that’s all. I switched from Spotify to Deezer but retained a free spotify account - good move since that’s where I get the new releases listings for my favorite artists. All my app and phone settings are as they should be. It seems this notification thing has been as issue for a long time so please…
Just one example: folk singer Heidi Talbot is tagged in my favorite artists. Her new album came out this week and is on Deezer, thank you. But no notification, of course. I had to find out about the release somewhere else…
So please, come on now. Really. Deezer is so nice in all other respects to fix this one thing and it will be perfect.

Hi @Platy2112 I am sorry to hear that you are not getting enough notifications. We recently changed our communication system to make sure you don’t have to opt out of all our notifications, should you wish to only find a couple of notifications unnecessary. As it was technically not possible to make that change while keeping your previous preferences, we had to reset the default settings.
You can manage your settings on the notification preference page: - On an Android or iOS device, go to Deezer > gearwheel in the top right corner > Notifications - On a PC or Mac, click on your icon in the top right > Account Settings > Notificationstab
You can also unsubscribe entirely from one category in one click on the link Unsubscribe available in the automatic email you received from Deezer.
Thanks so much for the reply :) I have checked my settings and they are a-ok. On the app, I have unchecked only Social Updates, Podcasts and News from Partners. In the iPhone settings, Deezer notifications are enabled.
What's strange is that some time ago, there were some notifications over a period of a couple of weeks but only from three artists (I currently have 404 artists tagged as favorites), and then it stopped again. See screenshot of the notifications.
But I do find new releases in the Friday releases playlist that seems to be pretty well aware of what's going on in my artists universe. So let’s say it would be nice if the notifications did work right but Deezer does keep me up to date with the Fridays playlist :)
If you can fix the notifications, great, but I will survive in any case
By the way, I noticed I appear in this conversation as Platy2112. That was the screen name I used when I first tried Deezer in 2016. My current premium account, with all my playlists and artists is different, with Latvaattori1 as screen name. I logged onto Deezer community with my current account so it's a total mystery why the old trial account name and possibly account contents appear here...
Oh the screenshot… here (Finnish app UI). What’s odd is that I have not listened to either DCD, Sakamoto, Ennio or Richter in a long time, my main thing is folk music and some classic rock. So why the algorithm picked these?
Hey @Platy2112 thanks for all the information. If you want me to change your name in the community to Latvaattori1 just let me know and I’ll try to do it for you. Regarding the algorithm picking up artists that you have not listened in a long time it is a mystery for me too, but I’ll further investigate with our developers. However if you confirm that Friday releases and Made for You playlists are fairly accurate, we just need to look into notifications. Apologies for the inconvenience
Hi and thanks again!
Yes, the Friday releases and Made For You playlists are indeed accurate, absolutely no complaints there. The only bug is in the notifications (and it is pretty mysterious) and I will appreciate it if you can figure it out. But otherwise I’m happy as a rabbit at Easter with Deezer :)
