I was listening a very immersive album and usually Deezer keeps on with the same style after the last track, but not this time (and some others). Some local terrible music started playing and completely ruined all that experience.
I had already tried to use foreign proxies / VPNs but my account seems to be glued to my geographical location, maybe coz my credit card billing address. Can this be fixed / changed? I'm almost giving up with Deezer and trying some alternatives. I already pay for Pandora that works fine but doesn't let me listen to an entire album like Deezer does.
I really appreciate your help.
Hi
Please bear in mind that there are many other ways to discover new music, i.e. Flow, Discovery playlist, recommended releases, artist mix of your favourite artists, track mix of your favourite tracks etc. There are many ways to find treasures
Hi
Please bear in mind that the recommendations on the Deezer start page are not tailored to your taste of music. Only the sections “Made for you” and “Recommended releases” are tailored to your taste. Everything else is popular music of the country you are at. In case you do not like these please use other ways to discover new music, i.e. Flow, Discovery playlist, artist mix of your favourite artists, track mix of your favourite tracks etc.
It won’t be possible to have no recommendations of any location on the Deezer start page but our product managers are working hard on a project which will enable to change location to a Deezer country of your choice Just patience is needed until this is realised.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
I am new user of Deezer, and this is the only annoying feature that bothers me a lot!
I am getting recommended lists only from my country.
For example, I want to see the most popular list (by number of fans) - worldwide.
The only reason I am using Deezer is FLAC.
Hello
Thank you for trying out Deezer
Sad to see that nothing has changed 2 years later after the OP remark regarding playlist suggestions based on your geolocalisation…
Why is it so hard for Deezer to let us choose playlist suggestions for whatever kind of music style based on the country that we want instead of the one where we live?
you can change your country in account settings. This will change your “music” page . you need to close and reopen the app/website to see the effect
Hi Anja, thanks for replying.
I have thousands of tracks, artists and albums flagged as favorites in a very specific style so I don't think my account lacks this information. Maybe it’s a bug or a momentary problem, Anyway, it's quite annoying when it happens. I keep clicking the "x" when I dislike something that is playing but sometimes a group of
5 or 6 songs keeps playing in a loop no matter how many times I click on the "x" for those songs.
Hope this can be fixed...
Thanks!
Looks like this issue is still there. I just started using the app and, even if I have a lot of artist liked, I’m still getting mainstream garbage thrown at me every time a song finishes.
Hey
Let me know if that works for you
Thanks

The problem is real.
I’ve tried all streaming apps and Deezer is in the middle when it comes to recommendations.
The main problem with Deezer, is that their algorithm just isn’t working right. You get trackmix opened when cooking salty fish and spaghetti, and you need to run in same second to change the trackmix as it may not play music related to it and start with charts. When you find good trackmix, they play in a loop same mauybe 25-30 tracks so you have music only for an hour, sometimes twice as much.
Weakest point is main page. When they do have 1-2 rows personalised with daily and lately played.
It’s not enough.
I use now different app and I do like their way. Obviously can not post screenshots.
It may be considered recommending them etc.
However what they do, they have constantly personal rows all over the main page.
It keeps me basically living in the app.
When I come back to deezer, I don’t have the same interactions as they don’t have tools for it.
As you said, we don’t need charts, when there’s ton of our data what we consume and how we want to be consumed. Personally I don’t want to pay a dime with attention to charts, we have radio.
I hope it can be changed.
I do not want to listen location based music! I click hundreds of local artists to “do not recommend list” and still your alco do not get the hint. I do not want to change to other location, because I have no idea which location has same music taste that I have. FLAC and yearly plan would have been reason to be here, but your recommendations are useless and the other has now good recommendations .

You can do that with our country selector!
I understand your frustration with Deezer's music suggestions not aligning with your taste and being impacted by your geographical location. While I can't provide real-time support or fix the issue directly, I can offer some suggestions that might help improve your music experience on Deezer:
-
Create Custom Playlists: Consider creating your own playlists based on your preferred music style and add tracks that you enjoy. This way, you can listen to music tailored to your taste without relying solely on Deezer's algorithm.
-
Use Deezer's "Flow" Feature: Deezer has a feature called "Flow," which is a personalized playlist based on your listening history. By using this feature regularly, you may get better music recommendations aligned with your preferences.
-
Like and Dislike Tracks: Whenever you listen to music on Deezer, use the "Like" and "Dislike" buttons to signal your preferences. This will help Deezer's algorithm learn your taste and adjust future suggestions accordingly.
-
Explore User-Curated Playlists: Browse through playlists created by other users who share similar music tastes. You can often find great music recommendations this way.
-
Contact Deezer Support: Reach out to Deezer's customer support and explain the issue you are facing with the music suggestions. They might be able to offer some solutions or insights.
-
Check for Proximity Settings: Sometimes, music services may use your device's GPS or IP address to determine your location. Make sure your device's location settings are accurate and not conflicting with your desired location.
-
Consider Creating a New Account: If the issue is indeed tied to your credit card's billing address, you might consider creating a new Deezer account with a different payment method that aligns with your preferred location.
-
Try Deezer Premium: Deezer Premium offers enhanced features, including the ability to skip tracks, listen offline, and have better control over your listening experience. Upgrading to a premium account might offer you more personalized options.
Remember that music preferences are subjective, and while music services like Deezer strive to provide personalized recommendations, they may not always be perfect. Exploring multiple platforms and services might be necessary to find the one that suits your preferences best.
