Getting rid of all the Christmas stuff

Hello,

I keep getting Christmas songs in my recommended playlist from October till a few months into new year. Songs come from artists I listen to and from artists I’ve never heard of.

It is impossible to block all songs one-by-one, as new will come next day, and I don’t want to ban artists.

I am from a Muslim country, and this is unbearable. What can I do to clean up recommended music?

Hi @stas.sh !

Many artists start releasing Christmas songs from November and it has become common.

To remove Christmas songs from Deezer, you can tell the app to stop recommending them by clicking the three dots on a song and selecting "Don't recommend this track".
Or you can use the "unhappy" emoji: You can also manage exclusions by using the "unhappy" emoji (the sad face) menu that appears.

Don't recommend this track" on Deezer means that you want to stop hearing a specific song in your mixes and recommendations.

Hi @Nina Nebo

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry, but your answer did not help me at all.

Telling me to block each Christmas song one by one is not a real solution. It is a very slow and frustrating job that never ends. As soon as I block one song, another one appears. I need a way to tell Deezer "I never want to hear this kind of music," not just block one song after another forever.

Also, I come from a Muslim country which I already mentioned. Having this music pushed on me for months makes me feel uncomfortable.

I use Deezer to listen to music I enjoy. Please give me a real answer this time, not just the same instructions that don't work.

Thank you.

@stas.sh I feel the same way you do, except about Taylor Swift’s music.

So I go with an admittedly somewhat unorthodox approach. Recognizing that deezer (and the world, really) is not obligated to provide a completely sterile environment for my personal comfort, I simply ignore her music.

I can confirm a 100% success rate with my technique and I wish you all the best!

@GropplerZorn thank your for your opinion.

Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way, Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh. Jingle bells, Jingle Bells Jingle all the way. Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh.
Hope it helps, sincerely yours

@stas.sh

I completely understand and know why you don't want Deezer to force Christmas music on you.

I wish I could give you a different answer that would actually help you, but at this point "Don't recommend this track" is the only solution Deezer offers.

I agree with @GropplerZorn  because I use the technique of ignoring artists and music that I don't like.

I would recommend that you post this in the Deezer Idea forum as a suggestion or idea for improvement.

I don't think it's a big of a deal . Just don't listen to Xmas songs . I'm Jewish and I don't really care it's there.
