Favourite Tracks Not Shuffling Properly

Hi Guys.

 

I’ve brought up this issue a few times via email. I’ve noticed there’s a few other posts on this forum and also on Reddit mentioning the same issue I’m having, like this one for example: 

Not all songs are shuffling or put into the shuffle playlist.

I have nearly 3K songs in my favourites and I never hear a lot of them.

When using the Desktop app, I see so many songs that never get shuffled when I click “Shuffle Favourites” on either the Android App or on the Desktop app.

Just wondering when this will be addressed?

I’m ok with the mobile app randomly stopping playback, exiting the app, or being unable to play a song and having to click retry. But I would really like ALL my songs shuffled if I am paying for this service.


If this could be addressed in an update soon it would be fantastic.​​​​

I know what you are talking about but honestly it doesn’t bother me that much to really care hehe .

A few years back one of the reasons I left Apple Music was because the shuffle did not seem to be working, I would hear certain tracks many times and others seemingly never. With over 6,000 tracks in my favourites there are tunes that I have not heard in a long time; is that due to the randomness of the algorithm or does the algorithm prefer newer additions to the playlist? I don’t know, however I am sure that whatever adjustments are made to how the algorithm works will irk someone out there. Maybe a feature that specifies once a track is played it is not selected again for a specified duration? But then I would want this feature to be toggled off/on.
