Hi,

The album “Pinback” by Pinback used to be available, I even have marked one of the songs as favourite in my account. However, now it says “this song is not available in your country”. How can that be? Other Pinback albums are still available.

Kind regards,

Jeroen

Hi @jeroen.henckaerts !

“This song is not available in your country” or song may also be greyed out because it is no longer available. This can happen if licensing agreements with the artist, label or right holders have changed.

Also note that playlists created by Deezer, other users and content creators may have had their content removed from public view.

Hi Nina,

Thanks for your answer! In the meantime, I had indeed found that guide that you point to.

It would be nice if Deezer somehow provided more info on why a song/album/artist is no longer available. And people seem to think that replying on that article is the way to request something… but is it? 🤷 I added my request there too...

Anyway, thanks for your answer :-)

Jeroen

@jeroen.henckaerts

I'm sure that all artist want their music on some music platform , but sometimes rights' holders can be reason why is can't be so .

Song ,songs or albums is removed because Deezer respect wishes of artists and rights' holders which choose to add or remove their music on Deezer platform .

Deezer cannot individually provide much information to us users about the reasons why is a song, songs or album was removed from Deezer because it is a matter of a agreement between Deezer and artist and others related to it .

In other words ,music rights holder is not only artist by himself .
There is many others things which can decide about adding or removing music from some platform .
Music Rights Holder means any record label, music publisher, songwriter, artist, photographer, or any other holder of any rights in any sound recording, musical composition, artwork (including album art, liner notes, and other collateral works), chart, music database or other Copyright.

Deezer constantly updating and re-negotiating about agreements with artist and rights' holders ,and thousands of tracks are added to Deezer catalogue every single week .

For anyone else wondering about this specific album: there is an answer on Reddit explaining why it disappeared from  most streaming services: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pinback/comments/1ftcpok/guys_what_happened_to_the_album_pinback_it_just/
