Also, you can try to activate the ‘normalise volume’ button on the app to see if that helps 😁

Sorry to revive an old thread, but this was the only one to come up with this issue and I have noticed this behaviour, also. The frequency of ads is whatever, but even with Normalise Audio on, the ads are “RIP Eardrums, it’d be a shame if you were wearing headphones, or playing music low as background” levels of thunderously loud at all times. I like Brennan’s Bread as much as the next guy, but I don’t want “Today’s Bread, Today” to be the last thing I hear as their slogan is pumped directly into my ears at volumes sufficient to liquefy my brain!

Is there any other solution, or can this be reported as a bug? It happens on PC and mobile, but I cannot even find a cache to clear on desktop. I have tried the suggestions above as far as possible, however.

Yep -- the ads experience on the app is horrific.  

I decided to cut Spotify (many reasons but...Spotify and I are no longer friends).  I didn’t want to jump to [option 2 that many people like] and Deezer was the first option I looked at.  

Trial month was good - tho [option 3 that is meh] has a trial that I wanted to check out before sealing the deal.  

All this said, I want to see the relevant options, and long-term I probably wouldn’t use a streaming music service with ads anyway, but the fact that this is what I’d be downgrading to if I needed to cut the subscription for a month for whatever reason...is definitely a huge strike against Deezer.  (It’s the main strike in terms of functionality/user experience that I’ve seen tbh...everything else is solid.)

Ads on Deezer often sound louder because they aren’t always normalized to the same loudness standard as music and are typically mastered by the advertisers with heavy compression to grab attention.
This makes them feel noticeably louder even if the actual volume isn’t higher.
I’ll follow up with our devs but can’t guarantee any fix in the very short term.

for me its the DEEZER AD that is the loudest, most of the local ads/other ads seem to be louder but NOTHING compared to your actual ads. I don’t mind the ads coming in, heck i am fine with them even being every 2nd or 3rd track but, it does make the free service much less desirable (and I cannot help but think this is the reasoning?). 
It honestly is extremely disruptive and makes me stop using the service WAY earlier than I probably would have upon launch. 

This is a great piece of content, thank you for sharing. The problems you mentioned actually stem from the purely profit-driven strategies of streaming platforms. For example, YouTube inserts ads precisely during the most exciting part of a song, the 'drop' section, to force users into paying for a subscription. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get full performance and an uninterrupted experience on these platforms without paying. For those looking for an ad-free and more artist-friendly alternative, Bandcamp is a great option, keep it in mind.

This is such a problem, I signed up to deezer this week to try it out, thought I would make a nice focus playlist, played it at about 10% volume and all the songs were consistently a good volume. Then an ad pops up and bam its playing at full volume. Really gave me a distaste for the platform. Please fix this.

I’m a bit late to this conversation, but there is a workaround to this (an actual fix would be better, but this does help) which is to turn the volume on the actual Deezer app to maximum, then control the volume through your device/speakers. It’s not perfect, but definitely better.
