New price plan for family

I’ve just received this email from deezer

I’m a deezer supporter for years, but now and after a +33% increase over 2 years (from 14.99€ to 19.99€), I need to question myself about the real mean of getting a supporter, where the competitors offers the same features for a lower price.

What is included in that new price increase ? Perhaps I’ve missed something in between…

Hi 

The main feature included is the HIFI quality . It is now part of the subscription as a separate subscription for HIFI is no more available .

I don’t agree with you about the HiFi feature.

19,99 Deezer family with HiFi, but others also offer a family option with HiFi:

Tidal 16,99
Apple 16,99
or Amazon.

So there is no extra feature or option that is different with Deezer. I think the main difference is the layout of Deezer and how easy it is to use Deezer. Of course there is the Music Quiz.

So there is no extra feature or option that is different with Deezer. I think the main difference is the layout of Deezer and how easy it is to use Deezer.

 

The first ever increase was due to the addition of the HIFI option the the regular subscription .it's true that other services offer it but Dezer was actually the first one to offer the HIFI along with the Premium as the only option . Appe offered HIFI with the subscription only later. To the best of my knowledge ofc. 

While I do like the new layout and branding , that's alone is not sufficient reason to charge more IMO . The prices differences between services is a different subject. For some Deezer price might be too high compared to other services and that's ok to think like that , that's the reason we have a bunch of services to choose from and decide which is gonna get our hard earned money .

I agree with you, the adition of the HIFI feature is forced, I can assure you that only a small percent will benefit from that.

Perhaps Deezer are looking to make more profit and as a strategy they include that to all suscription as an excuse for the cost increase.

You know, I was paying 3-4 years ago 9$ for the family, they increase the price to 18$ and a few months ago they increased it again to 20$.

When are they going to stop?

HIFI is a niche feature...
