If your Smart TV and phone are Samsung, you can use SmartThings.
If not, there should be a similar app for your devices.

A great development that a brand‑new app has been created for Android TVs, and it’s fully up to date again. Brilliant!

This is welcome news 👍🏻. I did not use the television app very often but when I did it did not give me anything like the same level of control compared to the Android phone app or web page. I’m looking forward to this and thank you for noticing the television app weakness and then doing something about it.

Very nice app, it’s fast, intuitive, big icons and quick access to everything. Especially playlists. Just tap and the playlist starts immediately.

two things missing though:

When a song is playing, you can’t go to the artist’s page from the player, you have to search for it manually.
if you’re playing a playlist or mix, the player doesn’t show which playlist it’s from.

The new app lost a lot of functionality. The most crucial is being able to click on artist/album names to go to that artist/album. Also, is scrobbling broken now? This was not an upgrade.

C'est juste horrible je me sens agressée par une interface noire. Impossible de déchiffrer le texte. Et vous trouvez ça révolutionnaire ? J'ai l'impression de revenir 20 ans en arrière.

De nombreuses fonctionnalités sont absentes. L'argument de la fluidité est douteux.

Déjà commencez par ne pas imposer un thème foncé c'est oppressant. D'autres sont oppressés par un thème clair ? Peut-être. Il vous suffit comme sur l'appli Android de nous laisser paramétrer nos préférences.

C'est juste inadmissible au point qu'il est hors de question que je fasse un effort pour rédiger ça en anglais.
