Great news for music lovers! Deezer HiFi now supports lossless high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192 kHz, bringing more detail, depth and clarity to your listening experience.

The best part? It's included in eligible paid Deezer plans at no extra cost. No separate Hi-Res subscription needed!

What's new?

Until now, Deezer HiFi offered lossless audio at CD quality (16-bit/44.1 kHz). With this upgrade, compatible tracks can now reach 24-bit/192 kHz.

Think of it like a high-resolution photo: more information can mean finer details. In music, this helps preserve the nuances of the original recording, from vocals and instruments to the dynamics of a performance.

What does “up to 24-bit/192 kHz” mean?

It means Deezer can support lossless high-resolution FLAC recordings at resolutions of up to 24-bit/192 kHz.

The exact resolution depends on the title and the available source master. When a high-resolution version is available, Deezer automatically prioritises the highest-quality version within the existing HiFi experience.

How do I activate it?

Simply select HiFi in your audio-quality settings. Deezer automatically prioritises the highest available quality for each track.

  • Mobile: Go to Profile → Settings → Music or Audio preferences → HiFi.

  • Desktop: Open the audio settings in the player and select HiFi.

A few things to know

  • High-resolution availability
24-bit/192 kHz is available on compatible tracks, with the quality depending on the original recording and master.

  • Will you hear the difference?
You might notice more detail and clarity, especially with compatible headphones or audio equipment. Your setup and listening environment also play a part.

  • Do I need new equipment?
Not necessarily! HiFi works on supported devices, although compatible audio equipment can help you get the most out of high-resolution sound.

  • What about data usage?
Lossless and high-resolution audio can use more data and storage, so Wi-Fi is recommended.

Is it possible to filter the music based on the quality? I’d like to see all the 24/192 music in one place and be able to pick what I listen to from there.

This is  a good thing , but surely an option to select whether you want to remain at 16/44100 or use 24/96 is quite an essential function that you need to provide.

I'm a Deezer premium user for over 5 years, I've tried free trials of every music platform that offers lossless music.

Both Spotify & Tidal sound sound inferior to Deezer , Only Qobuz sounds amazing whilst also offering a great app display with functionality. Yet Qobuz has a very limited music library, which prevented me leaving Deezer.

So Deezer you sound the best , you have the largest music library of them all.

How about upgrading your app functionality , i.e an option to use 16/44100 or the new 24/96 , also a function similar Spotify connect would be superb , being able to create folders & subfolders would solve a lot of issues especially for people like myself who have a huge playlist collection and like to keep it organised.

Deezer are you aware if you offered these functions you would be the number one music streaming platform without dispute.

Yet I'm loyal to Deezer because their lossless sounds incredible and the music library is huge.

Come on Deezer think about it

The news is good, but there is a small problem in the technical implementation. As far as I know, no mobile phone directly supports the aptx Lossless codec.I bought an external Bluetooth transmitter Fiio Air Link for my B&W Px7 S3 headphones.Deezer should do a survey on how users play sound. And develop tips.
