Windows app (and web) doesn't remember the last track played any more

Does anyone else have this problem since the update 7.0.130 of the Windows app?

Before, when I launched Deezer, it remembered the last track I played, and the playlist. I could press “play” and continue. Since that update, it’s not possible any more. Even the web version doesn’t remember, though I don’t know if it ever did since I never used it.

I’ve tried a few things, like

  • checking the available disk space (more than 300 GB free, should be fine)
  • deleting Windows’ temporary files
  • uninstalling / reinstalling Deezer
  • removing the cookies and logging in again (I wasn’t sure if the “app” wasn’t simply a browser in disguise, like many other apps; it does seem to rely on the browser to log back in)
  • checking the app logs

It’s not easy to test an older version because it updates straight away, and I don’t want to start using the firewall to block a possible update port and so on.

Weird, and very annoying.

That’s really weird. There’ve been no updates, yet now it works again. At least for now.

Maybe they fixed something on their server?

I don't use the Windows app. However, I did notice that when I listen on the web version, the next day the Deezer app doesn't continue from where I left off the day before with the app.

But is this every day or sometimes? I have to check.

Interesting.

For me, the difference was very noticeable because I can’t even press the Play button at the bottom.

I have to choose a playlist and press play from that playlist.

Hi @mischiew !

On my Deezer desktop app, I noticed that when I listen to a song from an album, then the app remembers the last song that was played and remembers the album from which that song is.
When I play a song from a playlist, it only remembers the last song that was played, but never remembers the playlist, but only shows the album from which that song is.

I’m not sure if there was ever an option to show the playlist that the last song was played from.
Under Favourites in Highlights is the option Recently played, which lists the albums and playlists you’ve recently listened to.

That’s not obvious, indeed. When you launch Deezer and start playing, the current playlist will show the little animated wave if it’s displayed in the main panel; it’s often in the “Recently played” at the top. Unfortunately, the animated icon isn’t displayed on the left column of playlists.

What you can otherwise see is the queue, by displaying it, but it doesn’t show where it’s coming from… I suppose it’s understandable. When it’s an album, I see the “Recently played” is the album. It’s possible to guess from the queue, too, since all the tracks come from the same album.

Hi @sonicsphere

You could find some issues in the BETA version as it’s a test version of the app, that’s why you are probably experiencing this right now

It can be fixed in the next update for the app 🙏
