Why is the 'Featured in’ section no longer visible on the artist page for the web version of Deezer?

I use Windows and have used Chrome and Edge, both don't show the section.

The Android app and Desktop app still show the section, but I use the web version to search for recent features, not from the main artist. The apps are not useful for me because I can't filter out albums with various artists(compilations) and sort by release date at the same time, without opening every album individuality.

Yeah, this is strange. ‘Featured In’ section is very useful

I didn’t noticed this before, but yes, it seems to be gone on the web.

For example I’ve tried Journey:

On the Android app I can see Featured in but not on the web.

Thanks for reporting this @jarnost @Dez U @awesomemac I have contacted our devs and asked why this is happening.
As soon as I hear back from them I’ll give you an update.
Thanks for your patience

Actually there are more discography sections missing in the web client now. There used to be additional sections “Compilations”, “Split”, “Live”, “Featured” and “More”. As a result, for some artists the majority of releases are no longer displayed.

I submitted a Deezer support ticket three weeks ago but it did not help. ☹️

We had Albums, EPs, Singles, etc. sections until a few months ago.
Then a "More albums" section appeared at the bottom of some artists' page, where Albums, EPs, Singles, etc. were shuffled and messy, and also never counted as their artists' latest release.
They fixed this exact same issue three years ago or so.
Now the "More albums" sections are gone again, and that's good, but:
1) The "Featured in" section also vanished for all artists, and I do not know if it was by accident or intentional.
2) Albums, EPs, Singles, etc. that were under the "More albums" section are still missing; they are on the Deezer catalog, if you search for them you will find them, the artists are correct, but these releases are no longer shown on their artists pages, as if they were hidden.
3) Songs linked to an artist may appear on another artist's page with the same name too; if I take the album and click the artist name, it opens the right page, so I have no idea how this can happen, how the same album can also appear on the page of a namesake if the URL is different.

Please check this with the developers as soon as possible, because Deezer catalog is actually broken by those very recent issues.

Deezer is the most broken streaming platform I have ever used. I’ve found numerous bugs over the years that haven’t been fixed. Hiding certain albums and the "Featured In" section for months is a joke. Deezer, released in 2007, is still in PRE-ALPHA version as of 2024. I highly recommend switching to Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube Music, or Amazon Music. Maybe they are not perfect, but I can guarantee that you will always find albums that you are looking for, and they won’t be hidden.

It’s getting better. There is Album, Live, Ep and Compilation category but still no Featured in

It's been more than a month, any updates?

@jarnost the latest update that I have is that  "featured in" section will be restored on the artist page.
It should be available very soon.
Thanks

Seems to be fine now, thanks

I think they are still working on it, though. The "Featured in" section on the web browser version is finally back but shows fewer albums than the corresponding section on the Android app. 🤔

The reason is that they are testing/implementing the new system on the web browser, which uses GraphQL to request data instead of the old PHP scripts still used on desktop and mobile apps.

And now the 'Featured in' feature is gone on the desktop app for Windows...

@jarnost

It is also no longer available in the Mac version of the desktop app.

Hi @jarnost, thank you for reaching out and big thank you to the user @E0xc815 for your the help.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but the "Featured in" section is already available on desktop and web.

@Leonídia.Deezer

Yep, but only after you have installed version 6.0.130. ✌️

Hi @E0xc815, that information is indeed accurate.

Thank you very much for sharing it.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but the "Featured in" section is already available on desktop and web.

All my favorite artists still have albums they are featured in that are not visible on their pages. ☹️

Still not fixed…

Attached some screenshots, using Ed Sheeran as an example.
The web version, using Windows/Chrome, only shows partial features. For example, the Taylor Swift album Reputation is nowhere to be found on Ed Sheeran's page on the web version.

I downloaded the latest desktop version, 6.0.130, which restored the ‘Featured in’ in the same way as the web version, partial. Again Taylor Swift nowhere to be found on the Sheeran page.

Right now the one version where the 'Featured in’ section is working for me is the Android app.

Hi @Marcormark @jarnost, Thanks a lot for telling us about your experience. It really helps us make things better.

I've shared your feedback with our developers, and they are aware of the issue you mentioned regarding "Featured In" on the web.

Rest assured, our team is actively working on resolving it, although I can't provide an estimated time for when it will be fixed.

Thanks for understanding!

guys, I created a script for the Web Player that restores the "More albums" and "Featured in" sections. You can download it here: *************. I hope you find it useful. Here's an example:

Then have your developers fix this, it's been 4 months and it's only getting worse.
I have examples where the web version is now showing features released in 2024 and 2023, but not 2022 through 2019. And the android version is also getting worse, showing releases from the same artist from 2019 through 2023, but not 2024…

Can't be too difficult if 1 user can fix it!

Shout out to @Random007 !!!

Hi @jarnost could you please share some of the examples that you mentioned in order to share it with our devs?
Apologies for all the inconvenience
