Volume banner in deezer desktop app

When I change the volume on my windows 10 pc a Deezer banner appears in the top left corner of the screen. How do I remove this?

This happens while using the Deezer desktop application.

I understand its usefulness but there should be a way to turn it off. It can be quite obnoxious for users.

Hi there! Some people reported the same and we have already passed the feedback on to our devs 🙂

Hii Deezer,

Any update?

Thanks

Is there a time estimate for this?

The Desktop Notifications toggle doesn’t work. Windows Media Overlay is still showing in Windows 10, no matter if it’s on or off.

Our developers are working on it, for now I can say big changes are coming to improve the experience on computer, but we don’t have any specific dates yet. 😑

As soon as we have news around it, we let you know. 🤞🏽

Take care.

I’ve been looking for a Spotify alternative and just tried Deezer for the first time - the volume pop ups or flyouts are insanely annoying.

I can see that after 4 years Deezer has been pushing this annoyance to the side despite customers requests for a simple option to disable via app, instead customers are required to fix it via third party solution.

That says everything I need to know - farewell Deezer!

To remove the Deezer volume banner that appears when adjusting the volume on your Windows 10 PC, you can try the following steps:

  1. Open the Deezer app on your computer, if it's currently running.
  2. Navigate to the Settings or Preferences within the Deezer app. This is usually accessible through a menu or gear icon.
  3. Look for an option related to notifications or pop-ups. It may be labeled as "Show volume banner" or something similar.
  4. Disable or uncheck the option to disable the Deezer volume banner.
  5. Save the settings and exit the Deezer app.

Hi @Lucas Duperier could you share with us a video with a step by step just to see if I got it right.

I will reach out our developers with that in hands.

I suspect Deezer app is running with an embedded Chrome so I tried this workaround and it worked:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\deezer-desktop\Deezer.exe --regexp-mode-modifiers  --disable-features=HardwareMediaKeyHandling

Modify your shortcut and add the two parameters on the “Target”, after Deezer.exe.

In my case, I just run this once and it worked without the parameters for the following times, it looks like Deezer stores the parameters for the next runs somehow.

Disabling the flag “HardwareMediaKeyHandling” in standard Chrome, the Media Keys are not sent to the browser and it looks like this also works for Deezer app. Sadly, non of the media keys are sent to Deezer, that means, the Volume Up/Down and Mute keys work because the volume is managed by Windows but  the Play/Pause button won’t work, since we are disabling the media keys to be caught by Deezer, so the “Pay or Pause” event will be ignored by Deezer.

Then to get the features back again, run once with “-regexp-mode-modifiers  --enable-features=HardwareMediaKeyHandling”.

But yes, it is still a shame that you cannot hide the Picture when press the media keys.

I'm confident it'll be sorted this year @elrohir :fingers_crossed_tone2:

And I'm following up all the progress around our desktop app - which will be getting extensive work on to improve. Stay tuned and bear with us on this!

It has been 6 years since this has been opened and 2 since this message, for something that could apparently be fixed by changing the start options of the application ?
