Songs randomly appearing as unavailable after each page refresh

Seriously, what’s the deal? I open my playlist on the web player on Firefox, and it’s like a bingo of which songs will appear as “unavailable in my country” and up for getting replaced, until I refresh the page again, and the prank pulled by you goes on.

A bunch unavailable despite all of them being available as shown below

Wtf?

Hi @tosemusername that sounds weird indeed. Could you please record a video, showing us step by step what actions you do.

Does this happen in other web browsers ? How about using Deezer app on your phone?

Yes. The images on my original post are cut screenshots of me using Deezer on Firefox on Linux.
For the video, I reproduced using Chrome on Windows.

How about using Deezer app on your phone?

You’re joking, right?

Haha very good response!

I’ve got the same problem and more. There’s some mess in deezer set-up.

1) Tracks randomly sometimes appear as unavailable then appear as available.

Before refresh

Same tracks available via artist page:

After refresh:

2) Artist tracks randomly appearing not searchable while PRESENT in the artist page

Search shows no results or doesn’t load at all on mobile:

Search doesn’t find the same album on desktop

Same track available via artist

3) Some playlists NOT REACTING when I click “download”. I click this, nothing happens.

4) Pinnacle - the same album added TWICE to one playlist despite that should NEVER happen in deezer’s policies - see the SAME Songs from the SAME album (not album duplicate!) in the SAME playlist - and these are in fact the songs which, for one refresh showed as “unavailable”:

5) ANSWERS PROVIDED TO SUPPORT:

• Have you tried to log out (see http://dzr.fm/loginout) and log in again with your email address registered with Deezer?
Yes, I have logged out on mobile, desktop, browser.

• What's the brand and model of the device you are having problems with?
Windows 11 on MS Surface Pro 8 . I also use a Samung Galaxy note 10+ and Deezer via firefox.

• What's the version of the operating system (Android, iOS, Windows or Mac) installed on your device? You can find that information in your device settings.
Windows 11 on MS Surface Pro 8 .

• If you're using our app, what's the Deezer version installed on your device? You can find that information in your device settings.
6.0.20 DESKTOP

• If you're using Deezer on the web browser, what's your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge)? What's the latest version installed? You can find that information in your Internet browser settings.
I sometimes use on FFOX but the problem is on Win11 desktop version and mobile - greys out tracks on mobile sometimes as well - tracks which ARE avaialbe - I double-checked to make sure it’s NOT the problem of track removal.

• What is the space left in your storage?
SUFFICIENT

• Additional information - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

  1. Maybe some playlist is corrupt? I gave deezer the link to an example.
  2. My hypothesis - something's broken with your album cache OR my account cache on the DEEZER side. Why:
  3. Sometimes this playlist shows some tracks "greyed out". Offers a replacement AND I replace some of them but the problem returns all over again AFTER replacement...
  4. It used to work all well, then one day it just broke down... not working properly on windows and making problems on Mobile - graying out tracks randomly.
  5. Moreover on windows it keeps stopping playback when it hits some "odd track". I can play the "online" track when I go to the track album but it stops on the "offline" version and then greys out the track when I go to the offline version via the playlist.
  6. Problem persists AFTER reinstalling clean deezer on desktop with all new download data.
  7. Offline desktop has no way of "repairing cache" for a file. Can the whole playlist be repaired somehow?
  8. As per "It used to work all well" - it broke down greying out the albums for ETHERWOOD a few months back. I thought you moved / replaced the albums BUT when I search THE SAME ARTIST now - etherwood, add the SAME TRACK which IS available, then the problem returns again. It looked like for a lot of albums by etherwood were "deleted and replaced" by deezer with the same albym which made the program behave as if they were gone, but in fact they were “added again”. Or else it was some corrupt data all along. Yet, sth is wrong because it won't find the songs from album etherwood via SEARCH anymore - so it seems that some of your albums may have broken cache because they ARE THERE on etherwood page IN DEEZER but are not found via SEARCH. The same problem persists on desktop and on mobile (stuck on search).

I have a very similar problem. I observed the same behaviour on the app I have on my mac or online using the web interface with my browser. When I access this playlist first, pretty much all the songs are available to listen/play. If I step away from the playlist however (triggering some kind of refresh) and go back to it, then several songs become greyed out.

From a user perspective though, this is not good. I was tempted to give Deezer a go and move away from Spotify as I liked some of the playlists but I just can’t trust it. I have observed this behaviour for several weeks so this is clearly something that is slipping the bug/issue radar.

The mobile app is working well for me that being said. But this isn’t enough for me.

Hi @tosemusername thanks for the video, very helpful. I shared this with the team, and got a feedback that this issue is already identify and should be fixed in the coming weeks.

Hi @igreg as said, we expect the fix to happen soon. Stay tunned.

Thanks @maciejst for taking the time to share this issues. Let me try to reply to your 4 bullet points:

1/ Like mentioned above, issue has been identify, incident opened and we are almost ready to implement the fix. So happen in the coming weeks

2/ search, a little bit more complicated to be investigated because as you can see on my screenshot i couldn’t reproduce the issue. Might be due to some latency

3/ Download button latency/not reacting, known issue indeed but this should have been fixed with the release of version 6.0.30. I test with different playlist and all respond well.

4/ Last one, regarding the duplication of content on the same playlist, this is a topic we are working on. I shared one specific playlist that you created two weeks ago, where several tracks were duplicated. Nevertheless, the duplicated tracks have different id’s. Please have a look to this screenshot from your playlist - https://www.deezer.com/br/playlist/12061746011

The first track 4:38 am if you press the 3 dots and share you get this link - https://www.deezer.com/br/track/1382803512

If you do the same for the second one, you get this link, which even doesn’t work as that song was taken down - https://www.deezer.com/br/track/1053632112

So all was shared with our tec teams and hopefully we can see some improvements in the coming weeks.
