The Panasonoc TV app hasn‘t been usable for years.  The navigstion is opaque to useless. For example, when I drill down into an album of one of my favorite artists, there is no way to get back out.  If I scroll to the bottom of the album’s track list and then click on return to top, I get what looks like a track of zero length playing, again with no way to get back out. The only way I have found to get out of any of these situations is to back out of the Deezer app, at which point I must start over again from scratch.  The only workaround I have found is to give up on the Panasonic app and use my iPad to stream Deezer‘s output to my Yamaha receiver.

Even this workaround is far from obvious.  The stream casting icon in Deezer‘s iPad app finds no devices.  Instead I have to call up audio from the settings menu under my avatar, then scrool down to „audio output“ and choose „AirPlay and Bluetooth“.  Only then can I choose my receiver for output.

The TV is a TX-58EXW784 from 2018. Is there a particular screen in the app that you want me to capture?

Upon checking the code you shared (TX-58EXW784), it seems that your TV is from 2017, not 2018. Unfortunately, due to this, Deezer won't be available.

How do you conclude this? I can provide you with the receipt from 2018.


@rsbrux this is based on the information on Panasonic’s web page. Even when you have a receipt from 2018, the year model of the TV is 2017.

So you’re saying I need to buy a new TV to be able to use Deezer on it?

Looking at the later model years, the form factor I chose is not available in later years.

Since the app is available on my TV, I assume that it was once supported.  What did Deezer do to break it, and why?


Hi @rsbrux, unfortunately, the new TV app that we release almost two years ago with improvements in security (login process as example) and new features,  are not compatible with TV models manufacture before 2017.

Alternative, to keep using Deezer on your TV you could buy external Chromecast dongle or an Android TV box.

It’s not the ideal solution, but is the workaround possible for all old TV.

Indeed, the previous app version was compatible with your TV, but  at some point after the release of the new app Deezer had to shutdown the old version.
