MP3 upload doesn't work

I have just switched from Spotify and have high hopes for Deezer. I just don’t understand what is the deal with local MP3 upload. It is crazy buggy and impossible to use.

It does not work neither in the desktop app nor in any browser. The lack of progress bar or error/confirmation message doesn’t help as I don’t understand what is going on. At this point I’m adding each song one by one (yes, all are CBR) and I still can’t upload some of them.

Additionally, after each restart of the app or refresh of the web player some of the songs randomly disappear just to appear again after another refresh.

Seeing all those really old unresolved posts and submitted ideas regarding the upload it looks like it is an abandoned feature that is going to be deprecated soon. Is that the case? I would like to know if there is some hope of listening to my local files via Deezer so I know if it’s worth to keep my subscription because that’s a deal breaker for me.

(I was even considering writing my own piece of code for uploads only but apparently Deezer API doesn’t have such functionality...)

Other than the lack of progress to know what is the status I don't have any issues with it.

Uploading MP3 is possibe for paid subscribers only. Are you a paid subscriber?

I am a paid subscriber. Can you upload multiple files at once without any issues?

I noticed that after a while after uploading (~24 h) the tracks don’t disappear anymore. Seems like some processing is happening that causes this error?

Hey @isbiltur

For the upload of mp3 files it is recommended to use either 2 tabs in the browser, with one tab being used exclusively for the upload. In the 2nd tab you can always update and see that the mp3s are there or how many are already available.
Alternatively, the upload can also be made in the desktop app and at the same time it can be checked in the web version how many mp3s are already there.
Unfortunately, there is no other way to check the status.
I hope this workaround helps a bit. ✌
