Gapless Playback Desktop App

Quite simply I dont get gapless playback using the desktop app.

I do get gapless audio on sonos and on my phone app too but not when using the desktop app. I am using a USB dac and was hoping to enjoy FLAC via the DAC. I have tried headphones plugged directly into my laptop eliminating the DAC. I get the same result when using the desktop built in speakers.

What am I doing wrong?

I have checked the settings but cant find anywhere that mentions gapless. "Listening to Dark Side Of The Moon" there is a big pause between tracks 1 and 2.

Am I the only one?

indeed @Yossi Kozay I have asked our devs and gapless playback in desktop app it is not planned for now.
I hope we can have you back at some point in the future once it is implemented.
    Thanks :)

Is really ridiculous! I am a user who pays for a regular subscription and I listen to music very often while working on the computer. Despite so many requests, this option, which should be BASIC for any music streaming service, now you also come and say that it is not even planned?
Today I downloaded the new version of the desktop app from the Microsoft store: I was hoping that the update to version 6 (a major update!) would bring the much desired gapless playback, but instead it is just a cosmetic tweak.
    YOU GUYS ARE REALLY RIDICULOUS!
You really have to make like @Yossi Kozay and abandon Deezer: I hope they realise that by treating their users this way they are only losing them!
For my part, I can only give them bad publicity: if one really wants a 'normal' music experience (what is Hi-Fi?) better to go elsewhere.

Sorry to tell you but that's a lost battle they don't care. I moved to Tidal a year ago and I'm very satisfied and it's much cheaper than Deezer.

Hi @Yossi Kozay, thanks for your message. 😀💜

Gapless playback has been available on the web for some time.

However, the desktop app has yet to receive this feature.

Please let me know if you need more information about this topic

Hi @Orsan, thank you for reaching out!

Unfortunately, there are no updates on gapless playback for the desktop app at the moment.

We appreciate your patience and understanding in the meantime.

If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free to let us know.

    Hello!

Any updates on this? I’m on day 1 of my trial. I really want to leave Spotify but this is a BIG DEAL to me. Artists spend a lot of time mixing their albums for gapless.

By the way, the web app to me is completely broken. The track will sometimes cut to silence a whole second or two before the actual end of the track. This is the opposite of gapless. This is very much, extra gapful.

I’m on macOS by the way. And I tried the web client on Safari.

    Merci!

Nothing new for gapless playback in the desktop app, still not working. The web player in MS Edge on Windows 10 does not stop before the end of a track for me, sometimes tracks simply have some seconds of silence at the end for no apparent reason.

How long is your play queue with gapless albums, as it might perhaps happen with many HiFi albums in queue?

I was just looking for the setting in the desktop app without success. Is it really true that there is no gapless playback in 2026? I was seriously considering moving to Deezer from Spotify, but this is a red line for me. Have to move on to look at other services if this is true. Can somebody confirm that it is still not implemented and I’m not just too stupid to find it?

No gapless playback in the desktop app yet, only in the web player and mobile apps, but not with a specific setting.

On Spotify their desktop app has gapless playback, but their web player does not. Not sure if anything has changed with their support for lossless streaming.
