Quite simply I dont get gapless playback using the desktop app.

I do get gapless audio on sonos and on my phone app too but not when using the desktop app. I am using a USB dac and was hoping to enjoy FLAC via the DAC. I have tried headphones plugged directly into my laptop eliminating the DAC. I get the same result when using the desktop built in speakers.

What am I doing wrong?

I have checked the settings but cant find anywhere that mentions gapless. "Listening to Dark Side Of The Moon" there is a big pause between tracks 1 and 2.

Am I the only one?
Known issue, check the Ideas section for a related suggestion where you can vote for it.
OK thankyou. I wont lol. I cant believe that it could be considered a feature, its essential. Off to Tidal. Thanks for reply though.
By the way, I just learned from this Reddit thread about necessary Tidal improvements that they neither offer gapless playback.

Still no gapless after 2 years? Unbelievable. Every other streaming service supports it.

We've got gapless on our mobile platforms @snaut but we've got to prepare our desktop app for it first. Rest assured, development is underway :thumbsup_tone2:

I just decided to try Deezer for possibly better sound quality, but am very disappointed to discover that the desktop app doesn’t do gapless playback. For music that continues seamlessly from track to track this flaw far outpaces any advantages that HiFi sound might have. I’d rather listen to Wagner operas at 64kbps than endure these continual interruptions in the music! What are your plans for fixing this? Will it happen soon? I’m getting the sense that this has been going on for quite some time. Thanks!

It has been delayed, unfortunately @David Sumrell but yes, it's heavily on our plans. We were planning to launch a bit after the mobile launch. But we've had to tackle other priorities in the desktop app in order to pave the way for this feature. I'll forward your feedback on and I hope to have good news in the near future!

What's going on with gapless music on the desktop app?! C'mon guys!! It takes too long!!!

It is taking a while indeed @Yossi Kozay

Good news is that we've had a recent update from the teams and work is progressing as expected. Hopefully, we should have this feature at some point before the end of the year. Thanks for the feedback and patience!

Wow!! Those are great news!! So happy to hear that 🙂 Thank you Rudi

Deezer Developers - PLEASE provide gapless for desktop app! This is unbelievable that it is still not present!

This is extremely basic functionality, not a rocket science feature!

Cheers,
Przemek

Rudi promised before the end of the year....

For now we wait...

Will Deezer give us all a great present for the new year to come? (Gapless music)

Is there an update on this? It still doesn’t seem to be working here for me on Windows 10.

Nope! Nothing's changed! Every little thing takes them forever!!!!! I subscribed to the yearly Hifi subscription and this is very disappointing.

Hello @matt0509 @Yossi Kozay

Thank you for your patience. It’s taking a while but it is still on our radar so we hope that the feature will be ready very soon,

Thanks!

Wholeheartly seconded. I came back to Deezer from Spotify due to the obvious reasons. I have been trying to convince friends and family to make the switch. The single most objection that was thrown up, was lack of gapless playing. That’s incredibly annoying when listening to live jazz albums, classical albums and so fort.

This should have been the top of your priority list years ago @Rudi  . Please make it happen, it’s costing you customers. You’re not capitalizing on Spotify’s mistake!

Let's encourage Deezer's engineers: Deezer Deezer Deezer Deezer :)

Hi mrhighdefjeff,

I see that you are a new member on the community…..Welcome!

You will probably see by trolling through the posts that this has been a serious issue for over 2 years.

Unfortunately Deezer have never seemed to have addressed this issue for the Web Player. This is such a basic facility, if you boast to your punters that you stream music in HIFI.

For some reason unknown to mankind Deezer have FAILED miserably to implement this to the desktop webplayer. I predominantly use the web interface through my DAC/hifi, the actual sound is great but it is marred by the fact that if you can not listen to a piece of music that has been composed to be heard GAPLESS….’Dark Side Of The Moon’ being a great example of the way the musicians would want you to hear the music they have written...it just spoils the listening experience.

All you can do my friend is to keep pestering Deezer to get their act together…...I have done this on several occasions…..but to no avail.

All the best

The real problem is that they are the only ones who gives you real HIFI... at least in my reagon.

And another month have passed... :(

And another 3 month have passed. No Crossfade, no EQ, no Gapless, no Roon. What do you actually do for a living?…. :(

@Yossi Kozay

There are already some HIFI alternatives. What is Your region?

Still waiting...

I'm not waiting for Deezer to wake up anymore... moved to Tidal and enjoying HIFI and gapless and non stop music without crashes and bugs and for much less money!! Much less!!!

Still waiting...

Guys, i think it finally arrived. I got gapless playback through the browser!
